He did and me and @Park bantam had a few debates with regards keeping Roman there rather than a natural CD.
I have to agree as your comment he rarely let us down in that position for a guy of his height he won more than his fair share of headers and scored some vital goals for us with his headers.

 

I remember him very well, not sure he was ever going to be considered as back up, never mind getting a game against Leeds, I can only assume he helped out with coaching our keepers, he was a big unit.

 

I think he was a coach, and ended up being our fourth keeper after Walsh, Clarke and Davison all got injured

Yes, despite being a shortarse, Vince was the one who attacked the ball and NKP played the more sweeper/covering role, which is clearly what he's best at.

 

In all fairness, I tipped the Angol signing weeks before it was announced.

Some are still anticipating Callum Lang to sign, though.

He’s not a direct replacement for Cook. Although Angol does boast decent height, he isn’t renowned for his aerial quality. He offers us something different to what we currently have - certainly a lot more technical than Cook - in a similar mould to Haris Vuckić.

Angol’s a good addition, particularly when it comes down to financials.

Low risk, but potentially big gain for all parties. He’s well aware that this could be his last chance in the EFL.

 

It’s not always height in centre backs or centre forwards. The key is TIMING. Vince was exceptional at it and I can think of two forwards in the game who had/have it.
One from a few years back and one of ours, Tony Leighton. The best modern day one I can think of?, Perhaps Ronaldo of Portugal?
