Once again a player we know very little about really except what we read and view on social media.
Derek Adams said there will be a lot of emphasis on running in pre season.
If Lee Angol is over his injuries he will certainly be up to speed before we start the season just like the rest of the squad.
Adam's tried and tested methods of squad fitness will be applied at City and any shirkers will be weeded out very quickly.
I would like to think at 25 Lee Angol's recent fitness setbacks are well and truly behind him.
Good Luck to the lad hope this move works out for him and City.

Reminds me of Jermaine Anderson, another ex Peterborough player who at one time was mooted as the next big thing before injury struck. Never showed that potential with us when we signed him and then he ended up at Aldershot after we released him. If rumours are to be believed though, sounds like he has been attracting interest from the higher leagues again more recently.

We shouldn’t trust anyone until proven.

Just because a club makes a signing fans don’t have to automatically agree with it.

The transfer system seems to be becoming more and more fluid. One good season in the NLP or L2 can land a player a move to L1 or even the Championship, and then they can move just as quickly back down again too.

Development squads are definitely a factor, but as are cheap back ups to bulk out larger squads.

If Angol clicks under Adams, how long before someone swoops for an in form striker?

It's becoming more and more difficult to write players off or assume they've made it because success changes in the blink of an eye.

In some sense, I'm convinced transfer windows are a cause, as clubs need to get bodies in quicker to meet hard deadlines and despite all the metrics and data out there, the chances of Jermaine Anderson succeeding above L2 level remain ridiculously low.

Another reason nobody should bat an eyelid when these players get big moves - like DMH.

Could be an acute signing. Sorry - a bit obtuse of me!

Agree, Adams made it quite clear in the interview I posted, no if's of but's promotion is the goal, he's laid his marker down, so not sure the lad Angol is going to be a bit part player.
Were a strange breed us football fans Adams has been in the managers seat for 2 weeks and were questioning a guy with his CV, maybe just maybe he knows a little bit more about football as player and manager than we do.
Just out of curiosity his win ratio at Morecambe yes little Morecambe was 43% that alone says to me Adams deserves a little respect, only Cambridge and Exeter scoring more goals than Morecombe I'm sure most City would take that this coming season.

    Spot on.

No matter how many times people posted saying we would sign mediocre looking players and not to be shocked, sounds like people are shocked.

    Really???

We don’t but we have to give the player the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise

Just out of interest who was the last City signing you welcomed to the club as a good signing that would improve our squad, serious question I can't honestly remember one.

    Cook

    Eisa

and for the record still being in div 2. Finishing 15 last season. I don’t think raving over signings has proved a success for us when barring one or 2 I feel Adams would want to rip up the squad and start again.

I did post earlier that on paper Angol isn’t the most inspiring of signings. Reading the article on the club site it does feel like we missed out on our preferred target and have had to go for Angol.

However I do hope that Angol was still on our list and meets the criteria and wasn’t a panic signing.

As you’ve said previously Fordy, I hope this kind of signing is a one off. We need quality to be promoted. I’m happy to be proved wrong though and I hope Angol goes on to achieve great things with us this season.

It would be interesting to know if this was an Adams find or Turnbull

    Nice.

It'll be lost on this lot though. Come across to the Countdown thread where a good joke is appreciated.

It doesnt seem like he's going to be a first choice starter so looking at the signings so far it feels like Adams is going for a 4-2-3-1 set up.

That might change as more come in but Eisa would seem to fit in one of those front 3 roles rather than a striker role and this lad doesn't sound like a certain starter just now.

I'll obviously give him a chance to prove himself but he does read worryingly like a cross between Jermaine Anderson and Kurtis Guthrie!

I see the angle you’re getting at. Let’s hope he’s well drilled about the benefits of playing triangles in midfield. If he does, we’ll be scalene the division in no time!

We will see. 1-1 with the second just behind at home. Like Morecambe did, and the 1 up front away

Fair point, but and the point you are likely missing? We don’t have a young Mc Burnie in the youth squad
