    At the same time though having rumours of other clubs swirling around even if his future is with Morecambe is actually beneficial to him. If he fully commits he can't walk into the chairman office tomorrow and demand certain players in the same way he can if there are 'options'

    And for the next 2 months kept saying 'Only God Knows' and his agent and others making comments like saying he was a Slave. He stayed for another season because Fergie spoke to him and came to a gentleman agreement to give United 1 more season.

    I'd suggest I'll be far nearer with my 14,000 quote than you are with this sort of none sense, "Harder for us to stay up, he aint joining.. knowing city we’ll get Stuart back.. one million percent... one million percent.. dont you worry about that".

    I said Adams coming to Valley Parade would be the right move for an ambitious manager, like it or not Bradford City are a bigger club than Morecombe whether you agree or not, that's so funny becoming a legend at mighty Morecombe :joy::joy::joy:.

    His initial contract was until the end of this current season, wasn't it? The extension took it to 21/22 so it did cost the club more as rather than half a season of compensation it would have been 18months of compensation

    I know people just love to moan about City, but I don’t think we are in a rut now, the tide is turning, in fact Sparks is a breath of fresh air compared to Rhodes. Indeed Evatt did jump to a bigger team in the same division and I think Adams will jump to a much bigger team in the division below i.e. Bradford City. As for Welllens would have only gone to Salford if it wasn’t run by united team mates, it was more that he saw the problems at Swindon who of course are now relegated. Morecambe will have similar issues, with half their side out of contract they will need to up their budget considerably if they aren’t to lose those players for nothing.

    Yes I will. I don't particularly want Adams, but if he is here, I will be right behind him and will still have my opinions. I am desperate for us and our players to progress and am confident that this is what even the most vociferous of posters on here want. If Sparks is successful EVERYONE on here will acknowledge him.

    The ‘rumour’ is that the total cost of the 6months was going to be spread over the 18 months so total contract cost was the same

    The thing is you can say the tide is turning but there is nothing to show that's the case. You ended up SIX places lower than last season. If you are looking for a 'project' that may persuade you to drop a level you are going to want to see some firm evidence and even if City are on the upswing it's really just words right now. It just seems to me a choice between staying and using Morcombe as a stepping stone to a better League 1 or even a Championship side as he is pretty much nailed on to beat expectations or coming to City with the ridiculously high expectations without anything tangible to suggest anything but success. There is way more risk to his career coming to City than staying at Morcombe imho

    Seems odd that he would basically agree to do a year for nothing. Maybe he was just being a good guy and not only helping the club with the COVID impact and maybe his staff didn't take a pay cut so ensured full pay for 18months during COVID uncertainty but still odd
