New Manager - Welcome Derek Adams

Well of course they are. What are you suggesting, he sells his other business to fund a non gauranteed promotion for a fourth division football club. His assets would soon be worth zilch. The club as a ltd company has to be self sustainable.

 

Derek adams although was quite excited by the idea that’s two games of Morecambe I have watched including ours. All I’ve seen is them let us and tranmere play football tranmere batter first half unlike us. And they play on break with flukey goals with one striker upfront. We have just got rid of two men that think one upfront works!!! Maybe with better plays Adams maybe different and that is why making do with what he has at minute. Sure things become clearer in next few weeks.

 

Without checking somebody on here said they were the third highest goal scorers in the division which suggest they must do a fair bit of attacking

 

Be interesting to see how Salford do next season with Gary Bowyer in charge on a permanent basis.

Surely Fleetwood is a poor comparison. Didn’t Pilley invest massively in them, including completely renovating their old ground. I’m sure I read somewhere that he’s invested more than £10m into the club.

I can’t see the owners of Morecambe, even if they did get promoted, being able to compete. And as such, their better players are likely to join Adams out of the door this summer.

Leicester City won the Premier League with those kind of stats, and nobody called them boring - hard to make those claims when you've got Vardy playing on the shoulder of the last defender, ripping teams apart with pace!

I suppose someone could drone on about 'direct' football, but nah!

 

Possibly so, but my broader point is that other so called smaller clubs have managed to consolidate in League 1 and who know what can be achieved from there. This so called 'big club' tag we profess to have - we're not really that much of a bigger draw than Morecambe; not to the extent that some people would want to believe.

 

It looks like their manager is leaving them for us, even though we're pap and they're good.

If that isn't down to the fact we're a 'big club', what's your actual explanation?
