I think you're missing the point a bit here.

We're a professional club and our recruitment is limited to the manager's phone book and offers from agents. It's lazy and nothing else. It's the sort of setup I'd expect from my local Sunday league side.

 

Just a hunch, but i think this guy would make a decent Coach or even Manager further down the line.
Always remember him competing for headers with guys well over 6 foot and never giving an inch, so to speak.

I understand your point but disagree with you. Whats the issue with agents doing some of the groundwork? Its pointless going after someone who wants far more than we can offer and has no interest in coming here. How did we purchase French, Wood as a club? Did you read in the paper today about clubs sacking off their scouting networks. This is clubs higher up than us. I have no issue at all in managers signing players who they know suit their style, they know their face will fit. especially in this day and age of limited resources and squad sizes. If they restricted all signings to this then yes it is limited. McCall has had a lengthy career and has a number of contacts so his book wil be sizeable. I disagee with you saying lazy. Its a circumstantial fact.

We dont really give players room to improve. We write them off after the first ten minutes. Can you imagine when you first starting working there was 10,000 booing you? Hiwula is a great example. Played much better when he left.

If you cant take criticism or even 'stick', dont play football professionally. That said, I cant think why any footballer uses social media, especially twitter.
