Am I correct in saying that McCall doesn't seem to have much luck/opportunities/faith in transfers from our incumbent owner.

Something doesn't feel right about this.

 

We’re skint and looking for bargains and season tickets are well down on a normal season. I get that but we’ve had a lot of mixed messages from the club, statements about replacing Vaughan, this Mansfield guy, a lot of which seems like BS and smokescreens now.

 

And that's what concerns me.
A little throw away comment by McCall (deliberately) to the fans about having to wait 6 weeks. As to put pressure on Captain Admin and the owner.

 

Wonder if we'll bring anyone in from Sheffield United or Middlesbrough (Warnock).

Hope we have a favour or two lined up.

 

It would seem you're seeing our approach for what it really is. Our recruitment is a joke and has been for about 2 years now. We will struggle to make the top half with this squad, and will continue to do so unless someone with real drive and ambition takes over at the helm. We're being left behind by teams we shouldn't even be classing as direct competition. Its so so sad

 

Only because it's a red rag to the mouth-frothing bulls who already know everything's shit and everyone's useless. A six-minute wait would be too long. This happens every year at every single club. Let's just wait (a little longer) and see.

 

Absolutely.

Bolton have had to do a complete rebuild. They've had to bring in players that suit the division and work within the salary cap - they've hardly gone out and signed the best of the best. That's a proper League Two squad if ever I've seen one, should be competitive, but there's also going to be a lot of strangers in that dressing room.

I wouldn't be putting any money on Bolton winning this division.

We'd struggle to be jealous of many of their signings, even though we seem to have brought in very few 'new' players.

 

Danny Lloyd has left Salford. Would be a decent addition here.

 

I wonder if salford paid off danny lloyds contract too then? seeing as it was 'mutual consent'. had no club to go to though...... very interesting...

I'd be pleased if we got him, his goals at crewe look low but thats probably due to being on the edges of the first team.

You can see by his whole demeanour that he is relaxed about where we are and his job rest on it. If it is false confidence we will soon find out

 

I reckon we can’t attract players because of the recent shower we have been lately. In recent years we have had too many managers for me to bother recalling, players jumping ship a phsyco owner and a relegation season of which is the worst I have ever seen at the club. And that’s just the crap that pops in my head. God knows what rumours are going round in football circles

It's bad owners that are the problem. What's to stop owners taking all the profit out and bleeding the clubs dry?

As you say, based on our previous successes in the transfer market and our reputation for improving players, there's only one way this will end up. Mediocrity and lack of interest. Dwindling season tickets and falling attendances. A stadium we won't be able to afford if Rupp cuts the purse strings. Stuck in a league full of grey clubs without a hope in hell of going on a cup run. Not that it matters because you can't reinvest it anyway.

The door has just been bolted shut from the championship side....
