Waiting for Premier League clubs??? Im sorry but any players that Premier league clubs are willing to let go to a league 2 club should be tied up pretty quickly.

 

A lot of premier league teams like to keep their young players for pre season before releasing. When they are signed we will see if it was worth waiting

 

Six weeks suggests they've enquired but heard feck all back. I'd go as far to say there's nothing in the pipeline as yet and we're waiting with baited breath for the phone to ring. Still, at least we've six weeks to find a player or three, its not like the season is just around the corner....

 

The season starts in 48 hours. If we are being made to wait for some U21 player that are ten a penny then we should be moving on and pursuing other targets, instead we are going into the new season under equipped and badly prepared.

It's about being organised and being prepared. Football is all about consistency.
Our squad is very very short of quality. A couple of injuries on staurday and we are down to kids who have never been near a first team game.

It feels to me as though something has changed since the zoom meeting fans forum when we stated we would not let vaughan go without significant financial compensation. And we heard McCall had plenty of ideas of players lined up and the budget was there for McCall to use.
Since then we paid vaughan off to go, clearly saving some money in the process. And we haven’t signed one player since.
Now either Rupp has had a word and said you must wait for ticket sales to see how much money is there because I’m not funding any massive shortfall again. Which is feasible and it’s good we are running a bit more smart.
Or rhodes has decided we must wait until what our season ticket sales are before we can sign anyone otherwise if it’s bad news and it’s low numbers we are waiting on clubs higher up to do us a favour.
I guess we would see some movement next week if we have a good push on the sales? And this theory I’ve made up would prove to be true?
It would be a lot easier if we were honest and said we need your money to put a good squad out there instead of sending sparks out to say we have money to spend and McCall will be backed to get targets. Would more people be a bit more forgiving? I don’t know

I suppose we have got to remember on a normal season early ticket sales would be done and we would have an idea what our sales would be to start our business.

Edit - another theory is we are waiting until the last week of the window to save wages as long as we can and we may add a couple then?

Teams in the lower leagues don't play weakened teams in the league cup, escpecially as for most its their only chance of getting a big side in the cup and a decent pay day. Where would we be if we'd played weakened teams in the wembley cup run?
