Was thinking about this the other day and 100% agree. At the very least it should be something like a suspended sentence - you can play on as normal but if you commit a further offence in the games you would have been out for, the original suspension comes back into force. Get through those games unscathed however and your slate is wiped clean.

 

Fair enough, I watched both but don't remember him saying it but like I said, if that's how he is thinking, it's a positive thing, not a negative.

I do find it funny how you ignore that we brought in Cooke and paid a fee for Watt. Do you not think either will make a difference to the squad? Watt I can understand not having a opinion but Cooke has proved he can play in this division...

 

Cooke and ROD were still part of a team that finished 9th. So I understand why some are not acting like a kid a getting excited over a signing.

Cooke is a decent player and it's up to McCall now to get the best out of him but we still need better players. Our squad is nowhere near good enough for a play off position. Forget automatic at this moment.

If you don't see ROD as a good keeper you don't go to games Fordy, he made some brilliant saves last season and kept us in games. What he can't help is teams getting free run at our defence constantly. He's a sound keeper at this level.

Did you watch Cooke play in the first 3 months? He was running a lot of the games and for me proved he had quality, it was only when Bowyer moved him deep his form dipped then he had niggling injuries.

I'd never said the squads complete because that's blindingly obvious, my point is that we have made some good additions for this level and hopefully have more to come.

 

Oh I go to the games mate and ROD is an ok keeper but he was in the team that was the worst ever and in the team that finished 9th last season. We can't get round these facts.

Yes, I have also seen Cooke and he decent but again under Bowyer I can't really get excited about Cooke performances. I agree its a decent signing but I am not thinking Wow. Spearing is a miles better signing! Miles better and a player we 100% needed. Hopefully, McCall will bring in a kind a player like that.

However, I think we are shopping in Primark this season. I don't think are squad is good enough at all...No where near good enough.

Thats exactly how I read things ? We need 5- 6 players in three at least down the spine to turn this into anything other than a repeat of last season. Infact I'll say it now we have little hope of betteting this years 9th if we dont ?.

 

I think we'd have little chance of bettering this season's performance, but actually I think you're overlooking the impact curtailing the season will have had on a lot of smaller L2 clubs.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bigger than normal gulf between the top sides and those that didn't deal with it so well.

 

Burnley finished 10th but their keeper Nick Pope was probably the best keeper in the country last season, so us finishing 9th doesn't mean O'Donnell was not good enough.
