Not one positive post in this thread yet so I’ll start.

A fast and pacey winger, something we have been lacking. Shows a clear sign were are going to play 4-4-2 or similar variation. If anyone can get the best out of him, Stuart can (using Marshall as the example).

He’s a decent signing for me. We’ve had a lot of crap and so called big names through the door in the last few years. I mean come on, people were bashing the bishop about Sean Scannell and he’s one of the worst players I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t beat a man and had no pace. A lot of people just seem to want to moan for moaning’s sake these days.

Personally I am waiting for the first 'it's not Stuarts fault' post.

 

To be fair it was midfield that was weakest last season and we are going to have at least two new young players in there hopefully they will come good

 

Who are these two young players in midfield?

 

DMH has blistering pace which is vital at this level, If we can improve his decision making and the quality of his end ball we MAY just have a player that makes a difference at this level, Lets see what Stuart can get out of him
P.S He will be cheap!!

 

Sutton and Watt when he signs

 

Mottley Henry didn't quite like up to it to me last season, but I don't think releasing him and re-signing helps as it puts him in the spotlight...

Nobody would have a problem if he'd just signed a one year extension, let's be honest.

Watt hasn't signed.

Sutton might say he wants to play there but that will be up to McCall.

Sutton and Watt in Centre Midfield wouldn't be good enough.

 

I would. You've got to show something to earn that contract and i didn't see it. This is another Jordan Gibson scenario.

 

Neither City nor Barnsley could do that. He’s 23 now and as a winger he should, by now have mastered the basics. Good luck to him, but I think I’d have gone for Connolly first. Maybe he could be returning too.

 

Well, not quite a Gibson scenario, as we all know Gibson had a dogpile attitude and was an utter brat I couldn't wait to see the back of.

I'd have had no issue with DMH getting another year.

We have no choice but to field players in the LDV Vans Trophy or whatever it's called now, and DMH can do just that while getting the odd 5 seconds here or there.

Like saying we would have been happy if Devine and Gibson got one year extension.

What shall we give contracts out like sweets in a shop? DMH didn't do anything to show he deserved a new contract.

 

Ah yes, the Barnsley Development Squad.

For every 1 player that blossoms every 2 years through a Development Squad, a club needs to keep on around 15 more no hopers just to make up the numbers.
