City vs Carlisle 21st Sept

I sit upper Kop and thought Donaldson handled it into the goal. But looked over to the linesman and he definitely didn't give it, neither did the ref until someone had a word in his earpiece. If the 4th official has ruled it out theres no way they could have seen it.

 

For me Palmer needs to up his game.

Mellor also.

Overall though we looked decent. NEXT.. Not Man City under 21 shi&e.. I mean league game- NEXT!

 

O'Donnell - Probably could have covered his angles better for the goal.
Mellor 4 - Abysmal first half. Lost count of his mistakes.
BRE 6 - Fantastic before a ridiculous red card.
POC 7 - Good pressure when we got on top.
Wood 7 - Few top crosses again.
Connolly 9 - Been a long time since i've seen a City winger destroy a full back so often.
Cooke 8 - By far our best midfielder. But needs to do it in a regular 11v11 game.
Palmer 7 - Improved second half. Still very average but looks better when we are on the front foot.
Pritchard 7 - Wins corners, takes corners. Good goal. Still looks to play within himself. Needs to roam more.
Vaughan 6 - Not much to say
Donaldson 6 - Willing runner. Touch let him down. Missed another big big chance.

Ismael 7 - Looked quality and delivered the goods from the bench twice.

I'd certainly be considering dropping Donaldson. Put Pritchard central and get Ismael into the team. 3 on form wingers.




Theres no possible way the referee can know it was a handball. He only went to his headset AFTER the carlisle players surrounded him. Definitely swayed.

We had a red card. How was McCartan going to get on?

 

Average in his previous 2 games too.

I hope it's just a blip and he's not another McGowan.

Just posted the video and screen shots two stills of the goal, I can't agree on that picture or video, I'll have to wait for Dmitry to post the full video of the game I can slow that down in VLC player and get a better picture.
I agree who made the call it could have only been the ref bottling it when surrounded by Carlisle players.

 

I know it was a good goal, it may look from an angle that he might have used his arm/ hand to get the ball over the line but he didn’t, i was adamant at the time and haven’t changed my mind after seeing it again.

 

I believe offering Devine, Anderson and Colville was Bowyer covering his arse, I think he knew Colville would be away as soon as he got another offer and I know its still money that could have been spent elsewhere but Anderson & Devine won't be on a lot and we were struggling for numbers in the middle of the park.
Now Cooke has joined Palmer we saw them bringing our wide men into the game, fans keep saying playing two in the middle but Pritchard was not an out and out winger today so we really had 3 in the middle and Connolly a very good outlet if we were getting over run.

 

Always a bonus to get one over on Pressley. Donaldson worked tirelessly right to the end.

Good to hear Bowyer post match say that he loves to play with wingers. He said nothing better than seeing old fashioned wingers getting the crowd off their feet

 

It looks to me like Pritchard is taking over the McMahon roll as the villain,
First he takes the mick out of the Carlisle fans after he'd scored then ran across the pitch to remind the ref Bridge
was on a yellow.

 

As we are talking about wingers a few of the older end will remember John Hall a good old fashioned winger from back in the 60s/70s who made 430 appearances for the club, very good cricketer also in his day, unfortunately lost a leg from a blood clot I believe, he still comes to most games I'm told so I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he gets back to cheering the lads on soon

 

BRE....why did fans clap him after a ridiculous red card challenge which could've cost us the game.

Clap a player deservedly sent off and now misses 3 games.

 

Good win today. Played well in patches. 17 points and we are still not at 100%.

BRE told GB he didn't touch their player-from where I was sat he lunged in and gave the ref very little to think about whether it was a red card or not. Thats 2 mares he has had this week.

 

I hope the Carlisle fan who tumbled down a load of steps in their end is okay. Dont know if it was a fall or he collapsed. Seemed to need a lot of attention before being stretchered out of the ground

 

I sit in upper kop to the right of the goal and I thought CD left arm/shoulder sort of nudged the ball over the line as he was falling. It didnt appear to have enough pace on its own to go in. Just how the ref or lino saw it though is a mystery to me as neither could have had a clear view.

 

Not seen Johnnie at City for a while. Always had a chat with him walking up Midland Road.

Didnt know he had lost a leg Bronco

 

Was it a foul on him first though?He was rugby tackled into the ball. Hardly intentional
