Time to go for Bowyer for me. Failed to see what's going wrong and change it for the third game running.

Get PE teacher Drury gone too.

    About bloody time.

Devine, Anderson and Colville - back in the market we go. No shock.

I'm not trying to be disingenuous, but you have to figure that we've been changing managers like we change our underwear under Rahic - you'd have thought we'd want that era to have ended when the clown left, but I'm worried people are used to it and aren't thinking long term anymore.

I don't want the embarrassment of continual managerial change to continue, and would rather we persevered for now.

The thing is bowyer has transfer targets, BUT other teams want these players too and City are not getting the deals over the line.
That is the depressing thing about us in L2, we cannot get them in.
Unless rupp keeps hold of the extra cash and the budget is spunked then City fans are in for a rough ride.

A few young/untested loanees are not going to turn it around by themselves.

I don't want him to but I don't think he will lead us to anything special.

Still starting Anderson & Doyle speaks volumes.

We do need to give him time but, at the same time, it is always nice to see the manager thinking on the same lines as the fans. It seems Bowyer is the only man at the club that likes the 4-3-3 set up. It is tricky for us City fans to buy into it as we have never achieved success with it, though Bowyer seemingly has elsewhere.

Without wanting to be labelled a happy clapper, I can understand why Bowyer has made some of the weird decisions he has. Doyle isn't suited to a no. 10 role but he was worth a try in the first game. If you have three strikers in the squad on decent wages, it solves yourself a rotation problem if they can all fit in the same side. Sadly, they don't seem compatible. But you can see why he at least tried to make 4-3-3 work.

We have started with a RB at LB. That has hindered our attacking output as we have no natural overlap. However, as Longridge missed a few pre-season games, GB might not had seen enough to start with him. He knows Henley from his time at Blackburn, of course. So although he's been a square peg in a round hole, you can understand why he started him.

Tonight he has been slated for rotating in a cup tie. I can understand the frustration from the fans (granted, I didn't go) but cup games are regularly used for this purpose by managers. It would have been nice to get a win on the board to boost morale but, all things considered, it seems GB just wrote the tie off before it had started.

Saturday will tell us plenty. We know we are going to be at full strength again. But are we going to stick with the same 4-3-3 we've used to now or are we going to see some adaptability and a willingness to change things around. Are we going to see a natural left footer start at LB to give us better balance on the overlap and are we going to see Paudie replace Anthony O'Connor at the back. How are we going to sure up the central midfield, which still looks the weak point in the team? The next few games look really important in addressing these issues as the excuses will soon run out.

But this just reinforces the point that many of us tried to make in the summer.

Buy cheap- buy twice. Giving new contracts to Anderson, Devine and Colville was always going to mean we needed to go back into the market to plug that gap because none of them are good enough to stamp their authority on the most important part of the pitch.

Had we not ‘spunked’ some of our budget on those 3, perhaps we could have got better players over the line?

Yep. Early goal to get the fans onside would be huge.

The problems naturally has a back drop to edins era. A number of the personnel both on the pitch and the touchline remain. Maybe higher up in the club?

But I'm not hearing people using Edin as a reason, as to why they want Bowyer out. I genuinely think, pre Edin, similar frustrations and calls for change, would have occurred. Jacko, springs to mind.

And those wanting Bowyer out, are few and far between, at the moment.

Haven't we already been warned though? Roger Owen himself on this very message board said it could take the club 5 years to recover from the era of ER. Only one man's opinion but as a man on the inside, surely better qualified than the majority of supporters.

Digressing a wee bit, I look at Portsmouth. Slightly different background that led them to league 2, but most certainly the big boys in the league. 4 seasons it took them to get out of this league. 13th and 16th in the first two seasons.

So yeah, it may well be a rough ride.

Portsmouth got new owners and went up straight away.

How does Mr Rupp rate in terms of wealth compared to other owners in the league? He's worth 120m euro.

I heard Villa's CEO on sky sports yesterday stating that their own knew quickly that in football you need to take risks and quality players are required.

The McBurine money has covered Rupp mess. It's all about Mr Rupp now and if he's willing to put his hands in his pocket.

5 years -we don't have 5 years! We need to go up this season.

Im not sure about SR wealth in comparison but I've got a gut feeling that his risk days at Bradford City have gone. In his shoes, would you?

Maybe, I'm wrong and more than happy to be corrected but would a return to league 1 recovery his INVESTMENT?

No but higher up the league the more attractive the club is and more money it generates.

Yes, in his shoes I would take risks and if not I would sell up.

Hardly failed, we just had greater priorities in sorting the defence out. Evidently the budgets gone on a strong forward line and the defence which is fine by me. I'm not impressed so far this season but we need to be patient and not start whingeing. I'm sick of us sacking managers and frankly I"m embarrassed our club operated that way last season, it has to stop now.
