    Would does it matter.

Our current owners would just buy some tosh from league 2 with the money.

That was PP’s gamble? Everyone knows he couldn’t tell the difference between a goal scorer and a barn door!

Absolute poppycock. Do you recall ever seeing the likes of Delph, Wisdom, Cleverley or Green in a 1st team shirt? These boys were sold before we had even seen them play. At least the current owners are wanting us to develop them into 1st team players before cashing in on them.

As has been said already, if you want to beat up the current Chairmen, there are plenty of reasons to do so. Stop making up new ones....!

If anyone says that at the time Swansea made the offer they would have turned down £200,000+ with a substantial sell on clause for a player that only looked like he'd been thrown in far too soon then they are quite simply lying.

Absolutely nothing McBurnie did in those games suggested he had a big future at PL or Championship level and I'd also suggest that had we kept him then his development would have been no where near it has been while at Swansea.

Never get why it's called a pyramid ? Pyramids have at least a 45 degree angle at the top not a long pole. It's a pyramid for sure below the national league, but leagues one to five sure as hell don't form a pyramid..........................:)

Agreed, with one small caveat. Someone at Swansea saw something, that we didn't.

McBurnie wasn’t crap. He was a 17/18 year old at the time who looked like a promising player for the future.

I remember going to watch the team training at apperley bridge and there was a small sided game and thinking what a great finisher McBurnie was.
I thought he did ok in the games he played he wasn’t developed enough to handle the physical side but his touch and general play was very good and just needed a goal to give him confidence. He must have stood out because Parky hardly ever gave young players a go

Someone at Old Trafford also had seen something in him to ask us if they could take him in 2013 to the Milk Cup tournament in Northern Ireland, McBurnie ended up with five goals in five games, where he finished joint top-scorer winning the tournaments Golden Boot.

Oliver McBurnie was offered his first professional contract for three years until the summer of 2016, so to be fair someone at Valley Parade also saw something to give Ollie that sort of deal what I believe was unprecedented at the time for a 17-year-old, hopefully we will reap some rewards in the future, after his loan at a poor Barnsley side he's proved he can score goals at that level and as Swansea have been relegated to the Championship I would think he will figure in Swansea's squad this coming season.

15 appearances no goals. Poleon and McCartan have better stats.

He was given just 2 starts in the league. His other appearances were sub appearances towards the end of matches. He looked lively and dangerous when he was brought on as a sub and I could definitely see future potential at the time.

He was just 17 when he first started getting played and was 18 by the time he left. Comparing McBurnie with players who are 23 and 24 and who have played many more competitive matches is unfair.

Totally agree. He was thrown in at the time to fill a shirt when we were short. I have to admit he looked like a kid who was playing on a Sunday morning because only 10 players had turned up. You could see he was a finisher by watching his goals in the youth team. Better scouts could see that he had something but I still think we got a good deal at the time.
