Might aswell name 7 subs if we can. He’s not that bad

 

He still had errors in his game in his first season and also had much better players around him. Didn't rate him that highly from the start personally.

 

NKP always reminds me a little of Rory on a terrible day, he used to get turned very easily. I think it might have been Colchester, Rory got turned twice from about 35 yards from goal? We can do better than at NKP even at L2.

 

Ability not NKPs problem my view, he's patently thick/has poor concentration hence why he looks good alongside a proper leader who can do his thinking for him.

I would have thought Staunton mignt be ready to step up to 1st team.squad next season. Never seen him.play, but isnt he highly thought of?

As for Devine, he just hasnt kicked on since his first few encouraging games, which now seem a lifetime ago?

 

We kept the ball very well under Stuart so he didn't have to do as much defending. Even then he used to get turned so easily and try and grapple with the striker.

 

Gives us the option I guess.

I hope Staunton features more. Bit surprised he didn’t get a chance at the end of the season.

 

he also had at least one lunatic defending moment per game. Cant remember which game precisely but it was a home game under Stu where he was last man and had the choice of tackling the ball or man and just booted the guy about 5 feet in the air when he could have made a perfectly clean tackle.

 

If Anderson and Devine accept terms, we will not have much manoeuvre to strengthen central midfield, unless he is confident of getting rid of Wright, Akpan or Reeves. That would leave us with the same gash options of this season

 

Absolutely right. That'll be 6 CMs for 2 or 3 positions, all of whom are not good enough. Bowyer must be confident of getting rid of Akpan and Wright.

It will be more than 6 with Gibson and McCarten returning and Colville offered a new deal too. (I know they aren't CMs but if we don't manage to shift the likes of Wright and Akpan, we are going to be stuck with the same old same old).

 

Me too, I don't think he will do himself any favours by staying and warming the bench for another season. The lad needs to be playing week in week out if he wants to progress, and I think it needs to be at a lower level than league 2.

 

Will be interesting to see who’s been released from other teams. Who is on our scouting team now Greg has left? Do we even have one?
Hope MASSIVE lessons have been learnt about getting players fully assessed before signing, and not resorting to panic purchases a few days before kick off!

 

Interesting also to see how he goes about engaging his own backroom staff.
