Bowyer signs two year contract

Six straight defeats is unacceptable in any scenario or position. Questions should be asked.

 

What question? Why we are a basket case of a club? Why everyone since McCall has failed? Carry on, but answers a plenty all over social media

 

It's all pretty futile now ..if ifs and ands were pots'and pans ?. Rhodes set no demands on Bowyer and fell over himself to award him a two year deal without seeing how it worked out. It's been a disaster for Bowyer who has now lost six on the spin ! Now we can carp on about how terrible the players are ? But Hopkin prised something from them in December somehow. ? Bowyer has posted 3 points from 21 in any other circumstance that gets you the sack !. Only reason he's not still in the job is that Rhodes gave him 11 free hits. Rhodes was here in January he knew what we needed player wise to help us stay in this League. But we just got copies of players we already had.

I'm absolutely convinced that had Rhodes appointed Steve Evans we would have some how got a better return on the last 7 games than Bowyer. Not least because Rhodes would have not offered Evans a two year deal after less than half of the audition. Evans would have had to prove himself no doubt and he wouldn't have got the job by being just "a decent guy who Julian can work with". Hence Evans has to produce more in his limited time". We needed nasty not nice for all our sakes. Rhodes relegated us before in 2007 and here he is to lead us back into another "dark age".As I say he's the true "History Maker" at VP because he can make history repeat itself !

Just seen Shay McCarten beaming all over his face celebrating promotion to League 1 with Lincoln. What a great goal for him today he'll be thinking in the back of his head yeah Bradford City ..I wasnt good enough to play for them ...who's playing League 1 football then next season ...ermmmm Shay McCarten ..darn right he is and good luck to him he's too good for us now !

What makes you think McCarten is good enough for league 1 now?

Anyhow, he might still be contracted to a league 2 club next season

 

He will be contracted to a league two team next season us. Let’s hope he can achieve two promotions on the trot

 

Are you basing this on Evans' tactical ability? Or that he screams and shouts a bit?

 

You say that but if he doesn't want to be here, would do more harm than good him coming back. We need to build togetherness and team spirit for next season - bringing a player into that mix that doesn't want to be a part of that could leave us with an upset apple cart allover again.

 

Do some research on his win ratios and you will have your answers. The man gets results wether he shouts or not.

 

Results with big budgets yes. And then there's also the matter of him having a big budget at Posh and getting sacked after a few months. So again, tell me why he's better than Bowyer.

 

Do some research yourself and you'll find that fans, players and staff at every club he's been at have been glad to see the back of him.

Maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn't but simply put, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference because he still wouldn't have won enough games to keep us up with the current squad. Nobody would have.

 

I'm telling you that Evans would have had more effect than Bowyer -who has had none. I'm not saying he's not a good bloke etc...but we didn't need someone who sits and chats with the "exhaulted one" (JR). We needed to get nasty ! I'm not bothered if the manager gets on with "Julian" infact I rather he didn't. If I had a choice between Rhodes or Evans where football is concerned it's Evans every day and twice on a Sunday. ! The record shows that Julian Rhodes association with the club is "largely unhealthy". Rhodes relegated us in 2007 and it was going nowhere under his guardianship. He got Lawn involved and it lurched from one crisis to another. They both were rightly pilloried by the support but the "mantra: was always "well there's no one out there who's prepared to take it off our hands"....then they got lucky ! and then sold us all down the river again ? ...now as if to compound it all ..guess who's back Julian Rhodes and we're once again under his bungling dictact !' We will not finally move on as a club until we are finally rid of there being any reason for Rhodes to be here. He doesn't have any financial stake in the club and he still turns up again ! He's worse than blooming Count Dracula for reawakening when the "Dark Descends".

You’re probably right. The claim that fans want Evans because he shouts and screams a lot is wrong. His CV is pretty decent, let’s be honest. We have had some legends at the club with some pretty questionable histories to say the least. So a bit hypocritical with Evans, that’s all.

 

Yes I wanted him for that reason..He provokes a response on and off the pitch. We don't have to get on with him ? We need him to deliver results and I vehemently contend that he would have faired better than Bowyer. Rhodes needn't and wouldn't have offered Evans a two year deal a third of the way into "The audition". We could have left that to the end of the season. As it is Rhodes has become fixated with "Nice Guy Gary" and paid zero attention to demanding results that "might" have helped us at least make a fist of it to the last ?. Bowyer has had a free ride and Rhodes has facilitated that. Only consolation is that from the off next season neither will have anymore time; all the targets need to be on board; players shifted out and hit the ground running from Day 1 after a successful pre-season. Anything less will be totally unacceptable. I do not expect to be staring up the table at Salford or Solihull blazing away and neither should have better players than Bowyer will have available. I want Rupp to give Bowyer all the brass it takes to take Adam Rooney from Salford He will be next year's League 2 top scorer !
