In your opinion, which is fair enough.

Mine, is that our custodians need to be held to account by our supporters. And when enough, refuse to believe what's before their eyes, then it enables the sort of recklessness that we've seen.

    Faithful Bantam is spot on.

Rahic was a man who hated criticism. He conducted a fans forum and gave an hour long interview with BantamsBanter which were both used to address him and his feelings. In doing so, he told us that *paraphrasing* fans who criticise him cant be proper fans and that "if you don't like it, there's the door". As if it couldnt get more embarrassing,he then proceeded to target certain fans (via a series of passive agressive Twitter DM's) who were invited to justify their criticism of Rahic in a face to face meeting with him.

Taking all that into conservation, I wasnt at all surprised to hear that fan pressure played a big role in Rahic's departure. He was a man who despised those who questioned him and If more had done it earlier then this mess could have been avoided. Instead, we had a sizeable portion defending him to the hilt until it was too late.

The Rahic disaster perfectly demonstrates that getting behind everything Claret and Amber doesn't make you more of a fan and those who aren't good at their jobs aren't always scapegoats. If only the Park Bantams of this world knew this.

I put it on because there has been many on here highly critical of DH during the January window. However, as I and many others speculated our ability to bring in players was severely hampered by our catastrophic summer signings. Yes there is a lot of info that we already know, but I am also betting there is a lot more to come on that front. I also liked the balance of the article in that DH has to take some responsibility for the last few games where he has been less than brave. It is not a question of blaming everything on Rahic, but he must shoulder the main responsibility for laying down faulty foundations which make it almost impossible to build on, as he severely overspent on his project. There were other financial issues like the electricity bill quadrupled and I am presuming super accountant didn’t factor that in when using the lamps on the pitch! I have no idea what the electricity bill is normally but most electricity heat sources send the meter racing.

I am sorry most feel it was duplicating what they already know, but I thought there was more meat on the bones in that article.

No one is saying Edin shouldn't carry most of the blame but we'd a CEO, accountants, fans, sponsors, another owner.

Point is on the pitch which Edin doesn't control we've been poor. When did Edin leave? When did Hopkin start?

Sorry mate but plenty of time has gone now since Edin left.

HOW MUCH IS BUTTERFIELD ON? I put it like this as people fail to answer the question.

Don't spend in Jan if the club is in a financial mess and if we're going to spend then don't get about 5 midfielders. Spend in the right way.

If we go down we can't just blame Edin! All eyes point to Hopkin.

I'm not saying Hopkin is whiter than white and tbh I have no idea how good his man management skills, but everyone on this board saw how poor Wright and Riley played when selected. Now I'm not saying that they can't improve, but as it stands at the moment the manager, whose job probably depends on it, obviously doesn't think they can improve the team.

Excellent post. Most of us did here rumours about team interference, controlling managers, and financial mismanagement. He totally lost my support when he sacked McCall, and there was plenty who said it was because he was the club hero etc, but that didn’t come into my equation, 6th in the league and on a bad run, it seemed madness to me to sack a manager at that stage. He deserved to be kept on and fully supported until the summer then review the situation.

To be devils advocate it is in the fans dna to try and remain positive, and with very little substantial evidence some fans found it difficult to withdraw their support from a Rahic. By the time he left most fans were in open revolt mode, could it have happened sooner? Who knows, but your right about the damage he has done and the longer it went on the worse it became.

It was stated, probably somewhere on here, that Butterfield is on £30k per month and we are paying 5% of that. I have no evidence of that. Just what was posted

Like him but that's a waste of wages isn't it? When we had plenty of cover for that position and an area that wasn't really a problem.

    Good points.

And you can be at the other extreme - constant criticising and assuming every rumour you hear to be gospel, is damaging too. Support through adversity is a virtue. But there are different ways to support. The sacking of McCall should've been the tipping point. i.e. that's when the 'Rahic Out' chants and flyovers should've been planned. The warning signs were even there the previous summer, in the aftermath of the play off final.

Caddis and O'Brien looked fairly inspirational to me and it's ludricous to make a verdict about the January ones?

Is Hopkin not allowed ever, to use long ball tactics or is it because the players have got desperate in some matches you've now decided to give him this label?

Can you tell me what you thought of Parky in February 2012? Judging from your negativity of Hopkin, you must have wanted Parky sacking, given he'd had longer in a lower division and could make immediate loan signings

I really don't know what you expected, given the start, but do tell

Does anyone else detect a bit of try hardiness from Jason? I cant read his stuff without thinking about how he must be trying too hard with his prose and style. Its like hes auditioning for a sports writer job somewhere it just doesnt sound natural.

    Could not agree more.

some people who shall remain nameless (they know who they are, as does everyone else) should absolutely hang their heads in shame for contributing to our destruction by apologising for, and enabling this to happen.

The tactics were used effectively ie to a target man with a smaller player alongside.

I absolutely think there was an element of jealousy from Edin of McCall's status and popularity with the fans.

I also think that Yeovil drawing Man Utd in the cup after beating us played a part. even though we'd have been a different number and more than likely not have drawn United, if Yeovil had drawn Macclesfield or something I think he might have lasted a little longer.

You have got to wonder of the timing of this article.

DH is coming under increasing scrutiny and then WOAP come out with this.

Wonder if someone at the club has had a word in his ear on Saturday??

Think it meant he played well and hit the post against Fleetwood in 2017, not Plymouth.

In what other position in league one, can you sign a player on 1.5k a week contribution?

If we didn’t sign butterfield we probably couldn’t use that limited money on another player of any quality
