he won the vast majority of headers and when he didn’t he forced defenders to head anywhere for the first time this season we were on top of a defence and the long ball wasn’t returned to sender

He'll start at Luton for sure no matter what individual fans think about the lad.

We weren't on top of a defence. We had 3 shots on target.

It was on ugly win. Just what we needed, nothing more, nothing less.

Our best players were defenders. Thought Chicksen & O'Connor had their best games.

Kai did Ok but he didn't win the vast majority of his headers.

If he did, you were watching a different game to me.

Actually he didn't but he won more than we have won all season and his movement seemed to carry more purpose than previously. The main thing for me was that for the first time this season, opposing centre backs knew they had work to do. We can all see his failings but none of us can point to lack of effort. Indeed, if all who have represented us this season had applied the same effort, we would be better placed. His desire is plain to see and what it means to him was apparent in not only the manner in which he came off on Saturday but how he came back on at the end.

2 were enough, one more than them.
Give the guy a break, you sound like Fordy.

He did Ok. But to suggest he won the majority of his headers is garbage. We both know it.

He did and he was also instrumental in the goal that was wrongly disallowed

He need some good coaching to avoid charging all over the field and concentrate his efforts where it matters. I think he played better after the ref warned him and probably told him he would book him if he kept charging into people. But he has ability in the air and for a big man he is pretty quick. These attributes could be useful unfortunately he doesn’t seem to offer a goal threat at the moment

If you didn't feel sorry for him, and he had come here with a reputation ala Eoin Doyle, you wouldn't be saying such things.

He's very poor for this standard, and doesn't use his frame well at all.

He should be much more effective, particularly in the air and in terms of hold up play, based on physical attributes alone. But he isn't, and it's his lack of understanding, ability to read the game, and blatant inexperience at any sort of similar level that hinders him most.

If he were 18, you might hope we could coach him into becoming a reasonable player. But he's 24, and will leave at the end of the season never to be heard from again.

Ability in the air is far from his strongest attributes with his back to goal his timings to jump and head the ball is poor for the majority of the time. He needs to work on this more in training. He certainly did better on the air against Oxford than in previous outings.

You could be right about the coaching and I haven't seen any quickness which is often down to anticipation. His timing of jumping for headers is often all wrong but when you look at his attitude, I am sure he is working seriously hard to improve all areas. Like most of us, I hope he is successful but I honestly don't see him making the grade at this level. Having said that, at times he does show good control and passing ability so we live in hope for at the moment he is the only one we have for that role.

Weird isn't how we've had shot after shot in some games and come away with nothing.. yet this game our shots on target stat is low yet we score 2.. bloody football eh!

Just out of interest..........we scored 2 and had 2 disallowed for offside, so surely that must be at least 4 attempts on target?

I'm sorry Park, but you're trying too hard - why can't you just admit he's not very good for the level we're at instead of talking about his performances like he's the next Miroslav Klose.

double post, but on the subject of Bruenker - he had an average game. which is being over egged because every other game he's been awful.
he wasn't 'good' but he wasn't 'bad' either. he was a 6.

he's not good enough to have any meaningful or lasting impact at in English league football. he might make a useful squad player in the national league north. maybe BPA could use him.

I think that's a fair assessment of the lad I agree he will not be a regular at league one level but he will be one of the first names on David Hopkin's team sheet tonight IMO ;).
The way the Stans are going they won't need him.

It’s the first time I’ve seen him time some headers and he panicked there defence but it’s the first time he needs to do this every week
