Stefan Rupp has spoken....

I'd say that they're more than aware that the fans won't listen to Edin anymore.

 

Have a read of this article, the writter openly says Rupp has very little/ no interest in the club : Then we move onto Stefan Rupp, the other owner, and one who doesn’t really speak or give a view. Our fans have to get real where he is concerned. For avoidance of any doubt, he knows what is going on, and I can tell you now, he is not interested. He loves motor sport and that is his passion. The sum he supplied is insignificant in terms of his fortune. He is not going to ride in on a white charger and save the day. Rumours circulating recently suggest he is not prepared to bankroll any further money, and I have seen various comments that suggest administration beckons for our club. Whether this is true or not, time will tell. Most of our fans remember our administrations and would not want to go through this again.

Suprised by this. Why is it David Hopkin who has been singled out. He has inherited this squad from Edin and Abbott who put most of it together before they handed it over the Collins to try make good of it. When that didn't work they now have Hopkin in the firing line, whilst Edin and Abbott appear to be wrapped in cotton wool.

 

Amazed anyone can see anything positive in this.

 

He may not be interested in the club but I'm sure he will with regards to his investment.

 

Making money available and attracting the required calibre of players aew two separate things.

Edin thought he had money to play with last January, and we signed a kid on loan, Brunker, and McGowan.

 

Imagine if Edin had released this statement!!

This statement doesn't give us anything new or alter anything - as with all the cr*p going on, nothing is going to get better without players coming back in from injury, or/and strengthening in January.

So..... cruise along till then it is then....

Unless Hoppy quits on Monday then everyone will lose there minds.

 

Normally I would say kiss of death, but the sheer fact that they are talking about January suggests they can’t afford to sack him. We shall see.

 

An interesting read Bronco, but the bit you have highlighted is not a statement of fact, it is the author's belief. There is nothing in that article that suggest he is in the know, he openly states that he has seen 'rumours and comments' and he doesn't know if they are true or not. Everyone knows Rupp's first love is motor sport and that he isn't really a football fan, this is not news to any of us but the author seems to have taken that fact and twisted it to mean that he isn't interested in his investment at all. Like I say, an interesting read but at this stage, nothing more than that.

 

Proof in the pudding will be in the next 10 weeks...

Bollocks. Their words have no credibility. And even IF Hopkin is given full control and a blank cheque, there's too much damage to undo in a single window.

As for Injuries, our problems are overstated. Who's out?

Chicksen - no better than Wood. In fact, I'd rather have Wood.
Akpan, who's now back. He's shown nothing.
Jones - Is he going to transform the side? He's no better than Doyle or Miller.
Reeves - he'd be better than Wright that's for sure.
Riley - Been crap and he's only young
Mellor - Been crap
O'Brien - would be good to get him back.

Reeves and O'Brien would be a help in midfield, but it won't transform our god awful defence or terrible attack. We don't have a stack of quality players stuck on the sidelines - just different flavours of the same shite.

 

I would like to see something more tangible in terms of solid additions that will add something to the current squad to turn the results that will add points to our woeful tally so far. I would also like to see some tangible changes in the management structure right from the too.

Im confused by people thinking that the January transfer window will save our season. Anyone who has seen the back of a match day programme or taken a look on google will see that we have a very large squad. Yes we have injuries and yes we have an obvious lack of quality but I suggest our wage budget is already at its limit and we would need to get people of the books before bringing anyone in.

Who do we get rid of and who is going to take them?

Who could go out on loan? Jones, Reeves, Chicksen or Riley.. I doubt it with their injury records and form.

Who can we sell? Id sugest nobody.

People are calling for strikers... We have Doyle, Ball, Miller, Brunker, and Jones. The last two probably being on low wages. Tom Clare not even considered. What 6'2 striker who can hold up the ball and link play with any kind of quality is going think about coming to Bradford City at the moment? We will be competing with clubs with far bettter prospects then our own. I just dont see how we can improve the squad so dramatically.

We could cancel the loan of Seedorf I guess but again, its hardly going to open up wages to bring in someone with enough quality to make a difference to the first team.

Then people need to think about realistically who is going to want to come here? Agents and players will have us at the bottom of the pile. We are in a mess. Players are going to need seriously convincing to come to VP and probably ask for wages that we simply cant afford.

If I was Huddersfield I would be seriously thinking about recalling Payne in Jan. There will be clubs in and around the playoffs who would snap their hand off for him. We are doing absolutely nothing in the way of getting him in the shop window.

It seems to be a double message.One to the manager and fans and one to the players.

If the players want away then it's not likely we'll see much improvement.If they think, we could be replaced if we don't improve,and that's a concern,they might start putting in a shift.If they do we might not spend but when window shuts we may relapse and get relegated.

 

I'd suggest they go hand in hand, the club suffers and continues on our downward spiral so does his investment I would have thought ?.
Althoug the stuff being quoted buy the finacial guys on here was cetainly an eye opener, maybe he can still make money even if the club are failing, thats even more frightening.

 

I'm not too sure about that comment @Onside87 if a club is willing to pay the right money a good agent will be activly telling the players were a good option, now if it's a toss up between us and Barnsley then I believe you have a valid point.

 

Players arent stupid though. Imagine having us as an option at the moment.
I keep seeing people putting their faith in the Jan transfer window and while watching from afar I felt like I had to sign up and explain that we are screwed as far as I can see. We have a MASSIVE squad with very little hope of trimming the fat to improve the first team.
