That seems fair. There must be consistency from now on. Unfair to single out one poster.

Anyway, back on topic. My starting 11 will be

    GK Louis
    RB Hendry
    LB Fowlds
    CB Osudina
    CB Crishlow
    CM Smallwod
    CM Odasebe
    AM Wallker
    RW Perraira (if he returns)
    LW Angle
    ST Cooke

There's too many players I've never seen play so with the high turnover It's pretty much impossible to try and select a first XI right now.

Courtesy for the players? Behave, I sometimes make spelling mistake with players names, sometimes it's fat fingers on a mobile phone. Park didn't do it on purpose.

A fit Dion walks into our team if we are lucky enough to get him back, in my opinion

I think folk knew who Park meant. The correction comes across quite condescending. Poor form that.

We all have a little joke about folk getting players names wrong. 99% of it is in jest, an ongoing joke but for a MOD to log onto the thread and go to the trouble in correcting is rather passive aggressive.

Nothing to do with disrespect, that makes it sound to be a deliberate intentional act Dennis. Yes it’s annoying but spellchecker is our worst enemy on occasions . We all get it wrong sometimes. We don’t need the holier than thou Can you imagine anyone on here calling an Irish player “A Paddy” , absolutely disrespectful of course, but when an Irish born black player calls himself Paddy and is called it by his fellow professionals , your player “ disrespect “ comments fall into disrepute somewhat.

As long as you continue to correct every post that is made on this forum, where a fellow poster has spelt a players name incorrectly thats fine.
Is this a new rule or something you have decided to do, the number of times Vernam was spelt incorrectly and fellow posters didn't make an issue of it.

It's really not a first world problem. I'd say with the odd exception, no one on here even batted an eyelid at Parks 'mistake' because they knew the players he meant. Picking someone up for not putting an L in a name? Really?

    Oliver
    Chapman- Walker -Dion

He'll fit in just fine. Eisa and Young on the bench.

Interesting about Scales. Last season was not a good one for him but so far since the restart of training, his name keeps popping up in things I’m reading. It seems generally positive and also comments about how he has filled out. I think he might surprise a few people this season.

Why is Oliver a guaranteed starter? I think that lone striker role will be massively rotated.

Would it be a good idea to have a sticky post with all the current players listed with their names spelled correctly? It would be a useful aid and a positive way to address the issue.

As long as the player is definable the spelling should not matter especially with smaller and smaller devices, It is better if posters get it right but not the end of the world as its more important they feel they have made a contribution rather than be chastised

Something a few have been saying on here for at least a couple of weeks. Parker clearly read it!

Hughes: Extra subs will be an advantage for Bradford City
    [IMG]thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/20291250.hughes-extra-subs-will-advantage-bradford-city/

    Simon Parker
    [IMG]
MARK Hughes reckons the five-sub rule for the new season can play into City’s hands.

The Bantams will still choose from a seven-man bench but no longer be restricted to just three replacements in games.

The EFL have expanded the number available to clubs – who will be able to make their changes across three opportunities, not including half-time.

Hughes views that as a potential plus for his team with the strength in depth he has looked to build up through a busy summer window.

“We think it will be an advantage,” said the City boss. “We’ve got good options obviously whoever starts or comes off the bench.

“My options to change things are a lot better than they were last year, I would suggest. That’s what we wanted to create.

“We’ve got the opportunity to make more changes later in games to try and change the flow at that point.

“You’ve still got to have the right quality to go on. When you make substitutions, they have to make an impact.

“If they are of the right quality technically, in terms of their ability to make an impact, hopefully they are going to affect the opposition markedly.

“You’ve got to have depth. It’s going to be a long hard season and we’re going to have to have any number of players to come in and do a job in the short term or more if we lose anyone for longer.

“Everybody has got to be ready and know what’s expected of them.”

Hughes fielded a strong starting line-up against Sunderland but switched all 10 outfield players during the game as he continues to build up minutes throughout the squad.

Even with a number of absentees, headed by the luckless Abo Eisa, there is competition for places going into the final first-team friendly at Chesterfield this weekend.

Hughes added: “I went strong against Sunderland because we were up against higher opposition.

“I’ve got great options on the bench and, unfortunately, in the treatment room at the moment as well who will play a huge part as the season progresses.

“We’re okay, we’ve got good depth. When I look round at who we can bring on I’m really encouraged by that.

“When players are given a role, they are expected to execute that and I’m more than confident whoever comes in, plays or starts will understand what’s required.

“We’re in decent shape. We’ve gone into the market and got players over the line very quickly.

“As I’ve said before, I didn’t think we’d be at this point in terms of acquisition of players so readily. We are and we’re benefitting from it.”
