The guy has barely played 50 games in his career.
He needs a full season of men's football.

 

Or failing that women's football

 

Any football. He just needs a full season. Not 10 games off the bench for Luton.

I’d have Hendrie starting over Halliday until latter has shown he’s fully fit after last season. He didn’t kick a ball after August. I reckon this is what he wants to play….

…..so many other options in the squad though. Songoo may well start over Platt, Cook over Oliver, East over Osadebe. Gillead might even be CDM if not on wing. Halliday maybe over Hendrie. Foulds if Ridehalgh isn’t fit. Young pressing Angol, as is Harratt. Tough one!

I am just glad its not me picking the team, we have good cover for every position. I will start with Lewis in goal, liked what i saw on Saturday, after that i have not got a clue. This is not the Bradford city way.

 

We've really got the luxury of three players in the same position? Would prefer a central mid player to displace Gillead myself.

 

Dion joining would give us 5 for 3 spots behind the front man.
We won't go into the season with 4 for 3 spots. It'll be Dion or AN OTHER to join.

Another CM could be a possibility too. Might depend on how many we can get out.

 

Swap Ridehalgh with Foulds and Bradley ( Halliday) for Hendrie that’s my side too.

 

Did think that too myself but chose the less injured choices-if that make sense? Hope that Halliday is an upgrade on Hendrie for sure. If so we have a cracking defensive line there.

 

Think this thread asks the question, do we really need Dion now??? Too many bench options as it is!

 

I don't know enough about practically every new face to form much of an educated opinion. I have a colleague who I speak to on the phone about twice a week who's a Vale fan. From what he's told me, Harratt should be playing. It's not just about his goal scoring ability, but the fact that he's fairly quick, never stops running and forces defenders into making mistakes. In this league, I think someone like that who can help create chances without it being about silky approach play will be a massive asset.

 

How about a team of just new signings (yes I know Walker isn't technically new)

A fit Dion walks into our team if we are lucky enough to get him back, in my opinion

 

Right of the the three would be his obvious position but who is to say we are playing that formation going forward? If we go 442 he becomes a dilemma ?

 

Weak in DM? Smallwood, Sutton and Songo if required. Dont think so.
