    I agree for whatever reason some managers (and players) can do no wrong at certain clubs, but with regards Cowley did a good job keeping Town up but the new owner wanted to take the club down a different route and didn't think Cowley was the right man to do it.
    With regards players we only need to look at Bobby Campbell, Roy McFarland had him whilst manager at Valley Parade and knew exactly what his strengths were yet when he took him to Derby McFarland couldn't get a goal from him, he then returns to City and helped the team go from strength to strength , as did Stuart on his return from Rangers.

    Quite right with Bobby.I think we got 65k
    for him from Derby which I thought was
    peanuts but his failure there and coming back
    so soon was great news indeed.

    The money was important with our situation
    then but as soon as he got back he carried on
    as usual and I remember thinking we got some
    recompense for Mcfarland jumping ship!
