I agree. I'm not saying I'd have approached this season on that basis and I think its disappointing we did. But we clearly did.

Because whilst I think it was a mistake he was appointed and now he is here he needs time we just can not keep on changing managers every few weeks. We have got to give him time unless we go on a run similar to last time

Stuart was a lazy appointment made by our supposedly out going CEO the decision had nothing do with any ability or suitability for the job am sure the rationale behind it was to temporarily boost morale around the place and secure a few more season ticket sales as well as (no one else was on speed dial) We had tried the likes of Grayson Bowyer et al who all failed and options who would take the job for whatever reasons were severely limited the time has now come quite rightly to question that decision and we seem to be short of answers
Not happy with the current managerial situation but as I see it we haven't many options when you consider which manager would take the job knowing that any incoming CEO may not see him as part of his plans
It's time the new CEO was unveiled and let's here his vision for the club why it has to veiled in secrecy is beyond me Mr Rupp needs to either commit to the club and publicly state he is behind the new guy or we all might as well go and watch our local pub team, if he is waiting to sell at profit he is deluded
Survival this season being the aim is a nonsense why wasn't this said at the outset we can blame Edin all we like but things have got worse on the pitch and haven't finished getting worse yet that's not a knee jerk reaction we are a rudderless ship regardless who the manager is and until things change at the very top it's stalemate

    Has it unravelled since?

    Nope.

If Harrogate's manager left, would they plummet?

    Not so sure...

It's amazing to think we're on a forum where it's UNIVERSALLY recognised that our failures aren't down solely to the manager, yet we seem to think success elsewhere is solely down to a coach?

Let's not be selectively naive here.

Apart from one good season getting us to the playoffs what else has McCall done?

Given that we don’t have a particularly mobile set of forwards, then a more traditional 4-4-2 may suit better. Wingers/wing backs punching crosses into the penalty area.
We have looked more dangerous when Wood and French have put crosses in.
There seems to be little potential to try over the top balls, as we don’t have a striker who has the pace to capitalise on that.
The same with balls through the channels.
The footwork of Guthrie doesn’t look particularly great, Donaldson doesn’t have that sharp small speed (turns and twists) and Novak looks more of strength player, rather than someone with speed and/or skills.
Rather than countering the opposition, then playing to the strengths and within the limitations of our players seems to make sense.

Stuart has now had multiple attempts at it and h has an enormous advantage over other managers because fans are willing to over
i think as far as attacking is concerned we have midfielders Who rarely get in the box Cooke did it once against Harrogate and then fluffed his shot. Neither do we have ball carrying midfielders who run at defences I thought Sutton did it quite well in his first game but seemed to retreat against Harrogate. We need to get more bodies on the end of crosses as other teams do. On a different subject didn’t Watt produce lots of assists atCarlisle season I would like him to play further up the pitch to try and open teams up

It is. Just like the how the Cowleys were tolerated at Lincoln and Parky was tolerated at Bradford and Bolton, Huddersfield fans would also have 'tolerated' them if they had brought success. We ain't gonna get the Cowleys at Bradford but id be more than happy if we did.

Not sure where this "cowleys are hated' has come from? Always come across well in interview, seem very ambitious. maybe soem mistake ambition for big headedness.

We would need to be at the bottom of L2 before Macca would leave so its a none question really. We need to sort the ownership and leadership of the club first and then create a long term plan. Fresh manager (not been here before) and work to the long term plan. Someone like Cowley or Flynn but neither would come here at the moment I guess. This year was always going to be hard due to the ongoing issues.

I’d say as long as the club isn’t sucked in to a fight to stay in the league and more importantly doesn’t look like it can’t win that fight, McCall will see out his contract.

I agree to an extent that this is what will likely happen. However, the new CEO will be aware that the club risks losing a lot of fans if we have a mediocre or poor season behind closed doors. A lot of fans will get used to not going, and will need to see something this season to keep them interested enough to renew season tickets next summer.

I think the impact of a new CEO may be overstated. If say it’s Sparks with Rupp still owning the club, and McCall has done what was asked of him, Julian said we shouldn’t be expecting promotion, then you can see him being offered a new deal, whether he takes it or not who knows.

The only way I see a total change of direction is if the new person is part of new ownership and the delay in Julian’s replacement is a S&P agreement being drafted and signed.

So you are honestly saying this early in the season a record of 2 wins 3 draws and 2 losses the manager should be under pressure. I didn’t want Stuart back in the first place it was a bad move but he is here and needs to stay here for the season unless results are disastrous over a period.

Nope, I don't want him gone. I've said that elsewhere. I too didn't want Macca but he is here now.

The merry go round of managers ain't working.
