Sunderland's two pre season games so far have also been against non league opposition and have almost resulted in two losses, save for a last gasp equaliser against Hartlepool yesterday. Anyone know what the odds are for them to be relegated this season?

I think i'd have no problem sweeping our pre-season losses under the carpet, as is usual with pre season, if it wasn't for all the other concerns i have about our owners, coaching team and current squad. I want them to prove me wrong, i really do. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens recruitmemt wise between now and season start.

Feels like an overreaction, but you just never know - overemphasis on youth, completely inexperienced head coach, questionable tactics from the chairmen, perennial unhappiness at City now furthered by supposed threats of court action, talk of selling our best forward, lower crowds expected, and a stubborn unwillingness to accept what we're doing has led us to possibly the worst three month period on record.

If that close-season period and that losing mentality continues into the next season, or the coach hasn't quite stamped his authority on tactics, players, and staff alike, we could easily be in trouble.

The gap between 7th and 21st seems pretty negligible.

 

As a preparation for a new season it’s going to taking some beating to be the worst. One helluva long list of negatives and concerns. On the positive list we should be grateful to have been given grass.
