    I’m sorry but FCD cannot do that….A pattern emerges! He’s got to go on loan to gain experience, or be sold. If fans notice then the management will notice.

    well positioning is everything for a goalkeeper. If you know your angles, you don’t have to resort to making worldie saves. To say that in the game’s weve seen Lewis in so far, he hasn’t had to make any saves of said caliber, shows Hughes has done very well in addressing a position that has been an issue for the better part of 2-3 seasons now

    Height isn’t as big of a factor when it comes to keepers. Keylor Navas is on the smaller side an is world class. Good positioning can compensate for height. As long as Lewis is capable of conducting the back line in an orderly fashion, I wouldn’t be overly worried about opposition lobbing balls into our box on a weekly basis.

    I think a decent keeper is worth about an extra 8-10 points to us this year

    Agreed - and that will make all the difference.
    ROD was a decent enough lower league keeper, but Bass was awful I thought. Never forgave him for that ridiculous 95th minute penalty he gave away against Swindon at home, what an idiot.
    I liked Hornby and actually thought she was the best of the three keepers.
    However Lewis sounds like he’s a real upgrade so far which is great! Could be worth a few points as you say which could make all the difference at the end of the season.

    It’s not wiki it’s soccerbase and Transfermarket two independent websites who have him at that and as he was at a PL club for so many years I’m sure it’s fairly accurate. I also say him have a chat with Songo’o pre Derby game who’s not small and he’s comfortably bigger than him. You can’t accept been wrong can you.

    Some on here will remember City coming up, on numerous occasions, against Reading's legendary goalkeeper Steve Death. After making one appearance for West Ham, he went on to make over 500 appearances for Reading, won 4 player of the year awards and won 2 PFA divisional awards.

    Not bad for someone who was just 1.70 m (5 ft 7 in) tall. Now that is a bit on the small side.

    There's been a raft of crap bench warming keepers that have played (or not) for PL clubs so just because he got a championship move doesn't mean he's all of a sudden a good keeper.

    Let's see if he plays first. If not he's just another keeper happy to take the biggest wage offer without worrying too much about appearance fees or progression in his career.

    If he came on a free or a nominal transfer fee I agree but otherwise I think Hughes has gone down the right route Lewis, Doyle and the kid Richardson.
