Sadly we missed out on Kieffer Moore by a couple of quid , with regards big Kev the bugger could always find the net when Stockport played us .

 

I might be in the minority but I still think it would have been worth giving Bruenker 20 mins on Tuesday night

 

Nah Bruenker is rubbish - no point playing him - he doesn't have the quality required.

Tuesday was better, but a better side than Burton would have beaten us, we need to improve. luckily Wycombe are also quite rubbish. that's what we need. to play rubbish teams every week, give us a chance of getting some points on the board.

the defence needs to up its game, quite badly - Chicksen has been poor, Reilly looks positively dangerous, and not in the good way, McGowan hasn't really performed this season, I know he was injured and that but he needs to be up to speed - at the moment I'm not sure if the 3 games he did play last season was a true indication of how good he is or a false dawn.

Wright and Akpan need to impose themselves on the game, and we need to learn to supply Doyle with better balls to him.

 

I was a little suprised when he brought Miller off and replaced him with Gibson, 20 minutes would have been IMO ideal to give Kai a run.
There is no doubt he's raw but that was what was called for, Burtons 2 CD were having it far too easy for most of the game, and that's not having a go at Miller or Doyle we played far to many high balls to them.

 

Totally agree. Rubbish or not he would have been a pressence against the centre halves, won a few headers and provided a different kind of test for them. We didn't win a header all night upfront, he would have stopped the ball coming straight back from the keeper and given them something to think about.

 

Kia Breunker is not the answer. We need a presence that the opposition fears. Everytime I have seen him enthusiasm in abundance, but can’t head an accurate ball, wasteful passes, and loss of composure. I haven’t seen a game yet, but it sounds like our midfield needs to step up a couple of gears and get the ball quickly to our front two. Breunker would provide presence if we could play twelve!!

 

Other than just the points we need to see an improvement in performance.

We did well against Shrewsbury, having 60% and creating 5 or 6 real goal scoring chances. But since then have gone backwards, even against Burton we created nowhere near enough and let them have too many chances.

Similar to last season in a way it can't be sustained, an improved performance as well as 3 points would give everyone a huge lift imo.

 

If we play as disjointed as we have in our first two home games, than the Wycombe's of the world whom visit VP will have nothing of real worry, when they roll up.

Have i missed something but 8 in every 9 think we will win. May very possibly occur and I hope so but of such a high margin...

Patriotic, blinkered, reasoned, under estimating the opposition, confidence, logical, positive, odds, reward, denial?

 

He may not be the answer long term but at the moment he is all weve got if we need a more physical frontman

 

Depends what the question is really. I know that he's not the Capital of Spain because that's Madrid

 

Even though the majority of us realise we are not playing particulaly well I think we tend to compensate the situation by thinking the next game will be the one that gets us on that winning run and confidence will return it my be worth while to kid ourselves a little .

Yes done it a few time and would possibly still do it, you feel unloyal.

 

This will be a different test to Tuesday. Burton were happy to come to VP and try and get at us and win the game. I imagine Wycombe will be more defensive and look to sit in and look to hit us on the break and through set pieces.

This is where the lack of a target man could be more obvious if we can’t create and play through a more defensive minded team. It will also test our ability to defend balls in the box.

 

Akinfena is always a test for defenders

 

It’s also real test for the dyslexics

 

Are we expecting Akpan and Wright to play every game?

Do we have any other central options?

 

It's really strange everyone can see we've no options up front or in midfield yet the club doesn't seem in a rush to change this
