PS. I'm almost certain that comment will come back to bite me. He'll probably get rid of Young and we'll have to pay the buying club.

You are hilarious. We're sat 14th in league two and you're coming on here blowing smoke up sparks arse because we've loaned a player who had a good six month spell here. Jesus wept.

I think given the situation, theres not really much we can do, due to the shitshow of a window we had in the summer. We got a decent fee for Lewis. As for Young, I couldnt really give a toss, he hasnt played for us for over a year so no big deal. Wright, meh. Might be good, might not. who knows. If he can get rid of some of this deadwood however, an help GA bring in some quality players, then id consider it a good window. But this window alone. As for the others, the less said the better

If the rumour about Oliver going is true, it may be to save on his wages to help fund the Wright deal. According to WOAP, we are paying the bulk of what they describe as his 'substantial' wages at Plymouth.

The football we have displayed the past few games (Derby aside) has been as bad anything over the past few seasons. Wright has pace, runs at defenders, is creative and not afraid to make an attempt towards goal.

Based on this, not sure how his signing can be looked at anything other than a positive. I don’t give a chuff if people want to call it lazy/PR stunt or whatever. What do people want - a player we have actually seen play and proved he's decent or the contrary, an unknown/untested loan like Tulloch or Afoka .

Christ, im low on the club at the moment but at least look at whatever positives present themselves.

He’s not played much over the past year has he? Is he going to be match-fit, or will Alexander have to bide his time before he can start him?

Desperate move to get the fans on side.

Clearly straight over Alexander's head and doesn't even fit into any of his systems unless he's played out of position.

Unfortunately players almost never do as well in their second spell at any given club and there isn't much optimism that a non match-fit, out of position Wright will make sparks fly, pardon the pun

No, I don't think it's a desperate move to get fans onside.

Looks more like an opportunity the club couldn't refuse.

Sorry but I can't class losing Lewis and replacing him with a GK that hasn't been a first choice for over 5 years as part of a 10/10 transfer window. That's just madness.

I'm not overly concerned we let Lewis go, I'm just frustrated that we couldn't (or haven't as yet) replace him properly.

Yes, he said that part of the attraction of coming here was to move closer to his family.

Stuart slotted straight in. However, this is more of a Stuart coming back as manager type of thing.

Good luck to Wright. I hope GA finds away to get the team playing around him and he scores and creates for fun. Really hope he’s the breath of fresh air we need to get things on the up again.

For me this is the issue. I'm always a glass half full person, but unless we think promotion this year is genuinely within reach, we shouldn't be spunking big money on loan players

its the type of replacement isnt it. If we’d signed a keeper 10 years younger and invested the fee, fans wouldn’t have been as critical. We knew of barnsleys interest in the summer so should have been planning then. The club are claiming Walker was on their radar from the summer, but I’m not buying that, not when we are supposedly looking to bring in players to develop like Kelly, Richards, Wilson, Odour, Smith.

it just seems like a panic/“who is available?” Signing rather than a strategic one?

Wright was a loss but Banks is the better player of the two. Different types of player, Banks technically very good whereas Wright has pace and is more direct. Hoping to see that pace used to good effect.

If Graham Alexander told Gent and Sparks we require more pace across the frontline, who's available this window and more to the point can we do something financially be it a permanent or loan then in my opinion we have secured a very good player who comes with prior knowledge of how our club runs and wants to be in the building
Certainly not a waste of funds based on his previous stay with us.
Replicate the form shown and we have ourselves a descent signing till the end of the season.
Now let's test the waters in Barrow and bring Ben Whitfield an attacking midfielder home.

He's 22 and trains everyday, presumably also played "reserve" football whilst out of the team. If at 22 (and not injured) he can't play immediately then there is something wrong with modern athletes. In terms of where he plays, he fits perfectly into a 343 that we are playing on the left hand side, with Pointon on the right.
