You are hilarious. We're sat 14th in league two and you're coming on here blowing smoke up sparks arse because we've loaned a player who had a good six month spell here. Jesus wept.

Winger when we don't play wingers! Is he going to be used up front alongside Cook I wonder as surely not another change in formation to come

He'll cost a lot considering he has 18 months on his contract and another year option.

Why does your post come across as so negative? "Thinking he is better than he is". His club accepted an offer. He got a good increase in pay and the chance to test himself at a higher level. Why look down on the lad?

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy Wright is back but the whole thing stinks of a PR stunt.

It's Sparks all over this. Re-sign a popular player in the hope that the background dissent goes away. A signing that is incumbent with our transfer "strategy". Jobs for the boys, former players, whatever so long as it doesn't require actual scouting.

Not to mention the player doesn't even fit our current system. And only last week, our manager said he didn't want to sign loanees this window because he questions their commitment.

Lazy as in bringing back a player we’ve had before. He was signed for a previous manager, played on the wing in a completely different tactical set up, but because he did well last time and the fans liked him, then of course he’s the answer. Classic Sparks this. Fans moaning about losing a decent keeper and potentially losing a 16 goal striker, so let’s bring a player back everyone sees through rose tinted specs. Doesn’t matter if he fits into the current formation, or if indeed GA even wants him, let’s get him back, plaster the website with “he’s coming home” and show a video of whoever was still with us back then giving high fives and bants. Wouldn’t suprise me if they’ve already asked about Crichlow. THAT’S what’s lazy about it. Zero research. Zero thought. Zero planning.

The football we have displayed the past few games (Derby aside) has been as bad anything over the past few seasons. Wright has pace, runs at defenders, is creative and not afraid to make an attempt towards goal.

Based on this, not sure how his signing can be looked at anything other than a positive. I don’t give a chuff if people want to call it lazy/PR stunt or whatever. What do people want - a player we have actually seen play and proved he's decent or the contrary, an unknown/untested loan like Tulloch or Afoka .

Christ, im low on the club at the moment but at least look at whatever positives present themselves.

I cant help feeling a little bit of cynicism at the club bringing him in at this moment! ... I'll stop the negative vibe..

Good to see him, hope he fits in well and helps the squad perform better.

Haha some on here having to fight back the faux outrage after going after Wright for leaving, now he's come back it's all 'welcome back Tyriek'. I know who you are.
Good luck to the lad, looking forward to seeing him play again.

Gotta feel for Adam Wilson. Didn't look that bad in the few games he played then in the wilderness. Another who desperately needs to go out on loan.

Quality doesn’t come cheap! Wright is a brilliant addition and if he performs anything like he was last he was here fantastic value. Don’t forget we were ready to buy him last season.

He actually often played off Cook more centrally. Can see that working well again. Got pace to stretch the game and worry oppo defenders. Like he did before. No reason to be so negative about this signing at all.

I really hope people stop with this wing back bollocks. Just because a player has played in a certain position, doesnt mean they are good there. Ask Plymouth fans, ask the Plymouth manager, ask the man himself. He isnt a wing back

Wright is a winger. He should be played in a position which gets the best out of him

For goodness sake is there no end to this continuous moaning. It’s potentially a very good signing. Let’s have one thread without the crap

What an utterly negative, cynical viewpoint.

    On the other hand:

    - We desperately need pace in the team

    - We desperately need someone with a proven goal scoring record, to take the scoring weight off Cook

    - We need someone who can get us up the pitch without just hoofing it

    - We need someone who can run at defenders and regularly beat them, both to lay on chances for others and create his own chances

    - GA likes players who are versatile (he has successfully played for us as both left winger and left side striker and could probably fill in as left wingback at a push)

    - GA likes high energy players who can keep up a high press for most of the game

    - GA likes players who will track back when necessary

    - We need players of a decent age with proven ability at L2 level, not some wannabe academy kids or ageing journeymen.

On every one of those metrics, Tyrell Wright fits the bill perfectly. So what’s lazy about going back for a player that we know, from recent personal experience, ticks so many of our relevant boxes?

Losing Wright last year was a major blow to our promotion hopes

Well he originally came as a nobody… ”Tyriek who??”….and look what happened

Hoping he picks up where he left off for us, someone to finally breathe some life into an extremely disappointing season so far

I don't understand this narrative that's going around that he doesn't fit into the system that we play. The last 2 games we've played Pointon and Chapman as wingers in a 343 so Wright could replace one of them or if we go back to 352 then he could play up front alongside Cook in a front 2 like he did just before he left us when we went to a 442 diamond. He's also played as a wing back for Plymouth a bit.
If anything he fits perfectly into what we've been playing recently and with him on the pitch we could potentially start with him and J. Walker and change between the 343 and 352 during a match without making any subs.
