It's massively expensive for the clubs though which is the problem. When fans are back in the stadiums if it’s not regionalised maybe it needs a switch to an FA Cup style setup where the away team gets a cut of the gate (maybe not 50/50 like FA Cup but maybe 80/20) to allow for a fairer distribution. Or maybe have the away team buy the tickets for a reduced rate and then they sell them to the fans with the away club keeping the profit from those tickets

I just don't see how next season is possible in league 2 and I feel that's the main reason it was voted to end.

Ifollow season tickets won't work in div 2 and yesterday highlighted that as much with the German footy. Piracy streaming would be an issue and can't really be stopped.

The cost of testing which is proving to much.

As you say a PL hand out might happen but that only does if the PL finishes and I agree if it does happen then it should be only for clubs to improve things such as youth development but it won't. It will spent on nonsense.

Yeah I didn’t even bother watching any of them which is rare for me as I would watch a school team match if it was on lol. The United Europa League match against LASK showed me how sport without a crowd just seems lifeless and losses that excitement. Watching the old matches such as the Euro 96 reruns on ITV are better than new matches with no crowd even though I know the result

On your point about training grounds being used I think Real Madrid are going to try use their development stadium for games so they can accelerate the regeneration of the Bernabeu

The BCD can only work in the PL if relegation happens then the battle for Champions league which now due to this break is exciting because UTD and Spurs have key players back and it's no shock that Lampard has been making noises recently as I think he is aware of this now top 4 for Chelsea could be tough. If the season plays out then I think Utd will get into the top 4.

However, next season outside the PL it's only the Championship that BCD could work.

The EL and CL would work when it comes down to quarter final and below stage. The group stages just won't work that well.

Why won’t the CL and EL work? Have you seen how much money teams who are in the CL get?

Advertisers are going to demand some of the money back as not having fans in the stadium reduces the value. And with no ticket sales that’s going to reduce a lot of the income.

In addition it’s not cheap for teams to take part in these games but it will be even more expensive now as there will be more logistical elements to consider. For example will teams have to arrive days earlier to allow for more time to test to ensure the squad is virus free and they may need to book out whole hotels not just a couple of floors

From a TV point of view BCD won't work until knock out.

Think you have to think about all the testing costs etc.

Think UFEA know this and hoping crowds will be allowed back say next February.

People keep talking about iFollow and season tickets. Does anyone know if the payment to each club is worked out by number of subscriptions sold, match day passes? Or just a fixed sum per year like the Sky deal

Its not as if we are the only club using the furlough scheme is it?

Any sensible business owner would take advantage of having 80% of their wages met by the government for a period of time.

Salford are not and many others throughout football didn't take up Furlough.

Some have an excuse for Rupp but I fail to see this backing and taking this club forward.

Over 6m watched the German football yesterday in Germany. The highest ever viewing figures for football in Germany.

All them viewers and the biggest club in Germany didn't play.

UK figures to be produced today.

With the discussion of the merging and regionalisation would that see us lose our league status and reduce what the club is worth or would they expand the membership and thus reduce our TV money?

We would be basically a non league team.

Not interested in that or any regional division.

If league one and two were regionalised it devalues nothing what it does is cost less for club and fans stops stupid journeys for the likes of Carlisle To Plymouth or Exeter. And promotion to the championship would still be there

It was suggested by WW that costs average £3k/£3.5k average a game. £70k a season as it stands (would still be costs if regionalised), so potentially a saving >c£50k?
Its not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things. So, using monetary motives is not a reason for me. As a consumer of the product I watch, I want the option to travel north, south, west or east.

I assume it will be different costs for Plymouth or Carlisle but the potential same could be said for Walsall or Coventry.

And why should an 80/20 split occur. Teams who bring an handful of fans like Fleetwood, Stevenage etc should get a larger slice of the cake?

I think clubs currently get a percentage of the I follow money. But it’s no where near enough. Andy Holt is always talking about it on twitter. I think it will have to be Renegotiated if possible
