Your subscribers still using the site doesn’t mean much.

I was a site regular before the football was brought to a halt and i’m a site regular now. The difference is that the entertainment value isn’t anywhere near as high without the footy and if I was to pay an annual subscription fee, it won’t be to read post after post on Corona Virus but rather engage in and read the passionate debate that takes place at 5pm every Saturday evening- a service you’re now unable to offer.

To make it clear, I don’t believe City should be offering refunds and I certainly don’t think that you should be either when you’ve presumably already had to put in a lot of money to keep this place running. Your tech man obviously thinks differently. If @SimonW@SimonW really believe’s in what he’s saying then he should message your subscribers, find out the motives behind their subscription and compensate those that need compensating, as per his argument above.

It’s easy to propose money losing schemes as a goodwill gesture when you support one of the richest clubs in world football. City can barely stay afloat at the best times, will be facing even more financial difficulty amid the current crisis and will be in the mire if every fan was to ask for a partial refund on their season ticket. For anyone to consider this as an option is ridiculous and even more so when the guy suggesting it is actually doing the exact opposite and asking for MORE money during these difficult times.

    In a world where:

Tycoons worth billions won't save their own companies

The government isn't bailing out the NHS, but instead the taxpayer is having to raise millions through charity (you've already paid for a quality health service that should be pandemic-ready, by the way, now you're saying again)

Mega companies who have made money hand over fist, entrepreneurs and those who inherited wealth without earning it squirrel trillions and trillions of pounds in offshore accounts rather than contribute to the countries that made or make that money

You are on about rich people bailing out companies do the little man doesn't have to?

    Welcome to a conservative reality.

thanks mate, I'm on furlough at the moment but as I work in hospitality it's a given I won't be going back to work at all this year imo. Just really grates I'm being told I'm not a proper fan for prioritising paying rent and food over a fecking football team.

How is it a money losing scheme? You will notice I've generally been proposing discounting future season tickets not returning money they have already had and most likely spent.

And I'm aware some clubs could cover it better than others but the whole problem with footballs reaction to the Coronavirus is the lack of unity that ends up causing resentment for all parties by the other. If some clubs start offering partial refunds or discounts and other don’t it turns into a massive round of one up man ship and guilt tripping that we have seen happen with player wage deferrals and staff furloughs. That doesn’t help anyone when all of football is on a different page

Seeing as people are so sure that most wouldn’t take a refund or discount it shouldn’t even be an issue to give people the choice rather than just taking the money for services that haven’t been rendered. It’s also why I’ve proposed uisng this as a chance to reform ST across the board. Many of you sit here talking about how you would pay more but City have clearly run the numbers and think charging more would bring in less so why not run a pay what you want scheme with a minimum value, club is guaranteed the same amount but you would get people who would pay more thus driving revenues up. And it would most likely generate way more extra revenue than the people who took the discounts.

Oh and for the record we have always had donations. It was just only available to subs. This is a different addon that allows us to open it up to anyone which allows those who don’t want to full on sub but would be happy to drop a couple of quid (especially those who wouldn’t sub because of PayPal as they can now give some money via card using one of the biggest credit card gateways Stripe. Which for the record if you leave a note on the donation saying it’s for a sub I'll manually add you to the closest sub package to your donation as we can’t add stripe to the sub system)

Don't listen to them mate.. you are a proper fan. These so called super fans are not giving the club any extra 10 k or £250.

Your bank balance being able to pay bills comes before anything.

Lockdown must have got you really bored if you’re going to these lengths to cause some lively debate.

I tried not to but its insulting in the extreme and I notice most if not all have gone very quiet now. My whole familys had a connection to city since the 50s at the very least (grandad played and broke his leg playing for city, dad briefly played in the reserves then broke his leg too, I had a trial but i was nowhere near good enough and too little haha) but im not a proper fan because im in the shit financially so need to claw back 150 quid out of the thousands they've had off me over the years.

I'm a self employed builder who hasn't worked for 4 weeks and not received any government hand out like the poultry universal credit because I spent more than 4 weeks out of the country

Not a multimillion pound owner who buys a football club he knows nothing about

Forum running costs stay the same ... If some folk want to contribute it's much appreciated but not a request

To those that have contributed many thanks

You are not alone in being in the shit mate. I too was on zhc. Got a mortgage to pay and kids to feed etc etc

I still wont ask for a refund if one is ever actually invoked.

And where do you get £150 refund from? Its 5 games at £5.77 that you would be short. So thats £28.85. I would be embarrassed to go cap in hand to the club for that.

You won't claw back £150 though. Any refund or discount would likely be around 30 quid.

Click donate on the nav bar or check the sidebar.

I plan on doing a post about it and a couple other things I've added to help the forum (and you the users) but I'm still tweaking a few things (It’s work I'm doing in any spare time I have so I don’t need to charge for the work so tweaking of things is taking longer than ideal)

Oh and if any of you are one of those people who wanted to subscribe but didn’t want to use PayPal you can send a donation using Stripe (one of the big credit card processing firms) and leave a note saying it’s for a subscription and I'll manually add the nearest subscription to your donation to your account. Just make sure you don’t send the donation anonymously

These super fans are the first to say no one will invest in Bradford, it's a poor area blah, blah nonsense.

You keep your money for you mate. If a refund is available from City or any other business then you keep it because it's tough times now if if these super fans want to bail out the club when the owner is a muti millionaire are the CEO benefited from selling the club and has money plus the owner of the stadium has money, the government has money and the EFL has money..

Take your money mate.. don't care for these super fans that hang on to the Admin days raising a fiver. This is a different situation completely.

    No it wont.

You cant buy a scratchcard and take it back for a refund if you did not win.

There are 5 home games left to fulfil.

You will be lucky to get more than £28.85.

If the season didn't happen then I will be getting my money back.

If 5 games are behind closed doors and I can watch on IFollow or whatever platform for free then that's fine I will accept that.

If its 5 games and they can't be played then yes I will take my £28.85 and give it to charity, a players fund, Bantam Talk or my self.

Bradford City or the EFL won't be keeping my money if the season isn't finished. As I have explained football has many bodies that can help them and the owner has money.

Any amount legally due should go directly to the Burns Unit seeing as they didn't get their collection day last Saturday.

As soon as the McBurnie money became available it was back with the owner... oh to help him..

Burns unit, Rimmer/Darby, Bantam Talk(know it's not a charity) need money more than Bradford City and if the league end that's the EFL decision not fans.

EFL, government, tv companies, bookies can all help clubs out mate. I would rather help other things.
