I agree with a lot of that. The window was a shocker and all of the transfer committee are responsible for how unprepared we seem to be.

Just one other thing though. We keep hearing that we had no fit fullbacks at Yeovil however from memory we had Kilgallon, Robinson (who played fullback against Oxford), Thompson & Hanson available. Is it ideal? Nope. Should we have had enough to be able to put out two full backs to be competitive against Yeovil.......Clearly yes.

 

The worst thing this club can do is to appoint a young novice manager when the likes of a wannabe head coach wants involved.

Just saying. We had full backs available. They might only have been Thompson as an option on the right or Kilgallon and Robinson on the left but options were still there..

 

Your missing the point 100% we had an option in goalkeeper that day we played Raeder with George as a sub. No one is saying there was no options. What is being said are the options good enough! Edin said the week later because we were in striking distance to Rovers he wanted to push for automatics!

Surely the most disillusional could see we got to where we were by punching above our weight and to achieve anything more recruitment and good recruitment was need then!

Parky went to yeovil in 2015 in the league and lost, it happens. Especially in the cup.

How many fullbacks did parky have that day, and the quality ;-)

Just to end this. If you think McCalls Bradford played better than Phils Bolton then surely that a feather in the McCall cap as budgets were massively different.

I know you are using this sentence to show McCall should have went up and Parky not but Parkys squad was much better and that tells over a season. We had too many draws until Wyke arrived.

Yes. I would say Raeder and Hanson alongside the rest of the team that day should have had enough to beat a Yeovil team who hadn't won in about 6 games.

 

Well parky could not beat them in two attempts in 2 seasons before. You underestimated a team like yeovil away in the FA cup at your peril.

And that was with a back four of Meredith, McArdle, Davies, Darby.

when he lost 3-1 at home he had Meredith, McArdle, Sheehan, Darby.

SG offered and takes the job on a 2 year contract. Says he is satisfied that whilst the budget isnt everything he wanted he can work with it and is confident of success. Says he will start on sorting current players and potential new recruits straight after final game at Scunthorpe tomorrow - next year it will be his team and he will stand or fall based on its achievements

He also confirms work on the pitch has already started and it would be rectified once and for all.

Ye but Killa went of injured. It was 0-0 at the time but that soon changed when Thompson came on. As i said we played with a make shift left back. Vince and Thompson (less said the better) and Hanson on the right (poor lad). And Raeder in Goals (comical). Terrible memories for me that game along side the shouting from a certain VIP to change it (not edin). I shouted back for who? As we were struggling with their wing play and needed a decent fullback. Did he expect Gibson or Patrick to become fullbacks or centre halves?


But hey hendrie was not worth the extra pennys and it was not as if we did not realise the team were struggling beforehand. And being ready is just a saying in football.

Recruitment, who needs that when we can just point the finger when it finally goes tits up.
