And?
They are underachieving quite atrociously, and this season represents minimum expectations, not a glorious achievement.
Sunderland will go up next season. Same story. Barely an achievement at all in my opinion, just righting an abysmal wrong.

The game is really about players. The budget/wages/ recruitment are all more important than who the manager is as is non interference from the owners.

Most of my posts recently have pinned hope for next season on Grayson staying. I still think he is the right man for the job and he has been trying to implement a mentality to players that aren't equipped to adopt it.
Providing that he is given the tools he needs (I suspect we will find that out in the coming weeks as to whether he stays) then he can be a success here. There is a recruitment job on this summer for whoever is in charge, but a nucleus of McGowan, Kilgallon, NKP, Vincelot, Reeves, Wyke, Jones isn't the worst of starting points. -
a forward thinking younger manager that's played league football in the last decade or so. someone that might play something a bit more cultured and expansive than just punting it towards the tallest player they can find to put up front.

this is about the new manager - and I want to see some football played, the ball to actually be on the pitch we're supposedly sorting out this summer, some pace in the side, expansive football.
I don't want a dinosaur such as the likes of Parkinson, Grayson, Peter Taylor, Colin Todd etc etc. -
I want Grayson to stay and be given the tools to get us out of this division. However seen as that isn’t going to happen then someone like Kenny Jacket. In an ideal world Chris Wilder would have a massive fall out with the Blunts board in the next few weeks and walk straight into the job when Grayson inevitably walks.

Scotland had 2 Champions League spots because they had 2 Champions League quality sides. Rangers fell by the wayside and it then became easier (not easy though) to get into those spots until UEFA adjust the rankings so that Scotland only got one spot.
You can get into European competitions by doing well in the Lithuanian league. It doesn't mean that you have management skill to operate and be successful outside of that though. -

What was McCalls budget compared to other SPL teams?
And put that into 3 seasons! -
I can't think of any names off the top of my head but someone recently retired from the pro game at a high level maybe. that's likely to want to see the game played the "right" way.
I'll be honest, it may not be popular but i'd have taken Barton.
(i know this isn't realistic, but Frank Lampard - someone of that ilk would be nice) -

why not read what the Motherwell chairman thought of stuart when he was breaking records that stood since the world war.
