I think these are the senior out of contract and loan ones:
    O'Donnell - no
    O'Conner - definitely
    Foulds - possibly
    Hendrie - no
    Sutton - probably not
    Watt - definitely
    Evans - probably not
    Cooke - possibly
    Vernam - probably
    Robinson - no
    Angol - no
    Lavery - no

    Bass - no
    Daly - no
    Walker - definitely
    Elliott - no
    Delfouneso - no
Pereira - possibly (I think we'll be interested if he's available)

I believe Walker and Elliott are out of contract, so not necessarily returning to their clubs.

Would love to see Walker signed, but no thanks to Elliott

Bass, O’Conner, watt, Cooke, songo, evans, perriera, walker, ridhalge, vernham, gillead, Sutton, Hendrie, foulds.

rest can go. At least 7 quality additions needed.

Keeper, Right back, central defender x2, striker x2, central mid (ball winner),

Pretty reasonable list and deductions, except PO’C . Just not good enough if we aspire to being up there. Imho

Yet Paudie is the one player who has attracted interest from clubs in league 1 apparently

Who cares about this current bunch of players. They’ve achieved nothing whilst being at the club. Ship them all out and start afresh. I’m sure Hughes wouldn’t have signed if he hadn’t been given some indication on transfer budget next season. He’s not a mug.

We need to be urgently talking to Sunderland to get Jack Diamond on loan here next season he was bye far the best forward I’ve seen home and away in this league and if anyone can do it Hughes can.

Not sure what his contract position is at Sunderland?. If he is still under contract beyond this summer, I cannot imagine Sunderland loaning him out for a 3rd season.

Sunderland must know by now whether he is good enough to be in their plans going forward, if not, they would be looking to cash in on him surely?.

I would love to see him here, I suspect if he is out of contract, there would be quite a bit of interest though

    I like Vernam
I'd like to try sign Dion, he's some talent and quick feet, there's a cracking player in there.

One or two others I wouldn't mind if they stayed.
However, I'm not too fussed if they all went.

I notice we've still a lot of very mediocre stuff contracted until 2023, good luck Sparky getting a tune out of them

Not sure I'd bother with Dion.

Agree about his slick feet, but I worry he's another low scoring player eating up an attacking position.

He's not the same player by any means, but I'm getting Cadamarteri vibes. Bet he can play well for a string of games, but not really achieve anything, then get injured.

    I'd avoid him for now.

Warning signs around Dion already in place under Adams. New manager yes but a leopard and spots.

If he is subject to injury (like at Yeovil?) then we need to stay clear, we have too many injuries in our squad and the last couple of seasons, our injuries have massively affected us.

Thankfully we resolved the issues around fitness and injury last summer…

The question was "Which players do we think MARK HUGHES will want to retain".

I think Hughes may want to retain Watt, Cooke, Vernam and Paudie out of the out of contract lot and maybe the two full backs Foulds and Hendrie on a year deal as back up. That’s probably it.

And thankfully we also resolved the issues around signing injury prone players at the same time...

I've always been sceptical about the "injuries". The players were clearly unhappy about playing for Adams and an "injury" is one way to avoid the wrath of fans and the Manager when it goes tits up during a game. It would account for the high number of unexplained injuries that we have seen in the past - or am I being too cynical?
