Investment would mean somebody willing to put up money but with no guarantee of ever getting a return on it. Even at Academy level, it would take years to see any real evidence of your investment working. The big clubs have invested massively and are beginning to see the benefits of this . The obvious successes at our level are Crewe and Exeter but they've been at it for a long long time and their whole clubs ethos is tied to it. And yet most of our fans want investment in the first team not in a long term project like the youth set up.

Yes, they do but now we have to give Hughes time. We have a quality manager and I am sure he wants out of the league ASAP but we have to build around him. Problem we seem to do is hit and hope hence why we are having this debate.

We've no identity as a club.

Mark Hughes first priority is to get us into League One. Next, to compete there towards the top. Championship within three years. Then we'll have the clout, gravitas and money to start building a proper academy.

As you say Hanson was out so Parky threw the kid in against two big hairy arsed pros like Claude Davis and Craig Morgan
A young Bradford lad was full back for Rotherham that day who is now Captaining Glasgow Rangers James Tavernier.
Our wasn't a bad side but Rotherham was a very good tough team exactly what they needed to get out of League One.

    Adam Collin
    James Tavernier
    Claude Davis
    Craig Morgan
    Kári Arnason
    Mark Bradley
    Lee Frecklington
    Ben Pringle
    Haris Vučkić
    Kieran Agard
    Alex Revell

Yet Mark Hughes applied for the job then stated why he wanted to come here, on paper a great appointment.

Mark Hughes is a great appointment. If we had it your way then Bowyer would still be manager.

Please tell me our club identity on and off the pitch? Interested to see what a man of the 60's which the game was difference and just about the football on the pitch thinks about modern day football and if he has caught up with modern times yet.

First you say great appointment then say he's a man of the 60s and the game was different, still 11 players each side stop trying to make a simple game hard, he said himself in a recent interview the recruitment guy will take that part of the footballing side from him.
With regards Bowyer if he manages to get Salford up through the play offs it will leave you with egg on your face, talking about egg on your face have you found those receits yet, did you see my reciets to Bradford Burns Unit and the Darby Rimmer Foundation for losing my bets, I don't welch on bets.
Only 4th division team to get to a major football final, and possibly the biggest FA Cup upset ever, or as Robbie Fowler said "the biggest FA Cup upset ever"

No, Salford signed Matt Smith and I told you all he was a great signing for this level. They have a plan but Bradford City didn't.

I was talking about you and you lack of getting your head around what modern day football is all about.

I was posting on here about Matt Smith when he played for Oldham and scored 2 goals against your beloved Liverpool 2013 season, the Liverpool defenders that afternoon couldn't handle him in the air.

Don't you go worrying yourself with regards my knowledge of modern football, I know when I've seen a good game and don't need systems or how much effort and energy said player has used in the game, I'd think 99% of fans are more than happy to see a good game and couldn't care less what the match day stats are with regards individual players.

6 in 16. Meh. Better than the shite we have but hardly 'great'. If he puts them into L1 I will concede.

Remind us what you said about Cole Stockton last summer?

Yep and Crewe and Exeter sit in the doldrums....

Posh and Brentford model appeals more but lots of speculation and risk required.

MH has said that he hopes his gift of the gab will persuade the out of contract players he wants to re-sign.

Sorry, but I wouldn't be begging any of them to sign on again. If the ones he wants are unsure about staying, then au revoir
