And how many mangers have been and gone since Ferguson? What have they won?

Look at Pep at Man City, not the best first season but the club stuck with him and he's delivering results because he's had a chance to do what he wants with the team. Even Klopp is really turning Liverpool into a top team.

He's shown he can get this team playing, he did it in December. Why even take a gamble and think about getting rid of him to get somebody else in there's just no method to that logic?

My question to you Fordy is, you get your wish we go down and Hopkin is sacked, we bring somebody else in and and we get to the January window and making no progress. Do we sack them?

It's ridiculous that football has put this ideology onto people like you that we should only give managers 6 months, crazy.

NO ............ You need a scan to be certain, (I've had 3 scans in 10 months .......... Thankfully now determined 'all clear' ).

If you finish mid table with either Manchester club you can expect your P45, Both are ruthless in the pursuit of success

I find this approach to the situation confusing, its not about being pessimistic or optimistic. We know we are limping as a team because of Rahic. Some of us just couldnt believe he was making such a mess of it all and some of us saw it straight away and were right to be pessimistic. Well done! but now its just harmful.

I see it as though we have been given a wheelchair to win a car race. We know and have known about the wheelchair and for the rest of the season we have no car with an engine. Complaining wont get us a car with an engine so why complain in the first place? especially booing at games.

And how much success has Manchester United had since Fergy? Not really working for them is it?

Utd sacked managers for failing after Fergie and Jose won cups then got sacked.

City back Pepe and allowed his to spend 100m on full backs.

Klopp also back as their owners changed their stance and understood that you've to spend money to have a chance in the PL & CL

Point is though if Pepe or Klopp finish outside the top 4 then more than likely they will be sacked.

It's a results business and targets need to be in place!

If Hopkin can't keep us up then it's pointless sicking with him. The borad and Rhodes while here need to form a plan and identity.

It would be foolish to stick with a failing manager.

I missed the game on Saturday and by all accounts it was not a classic although we should have stuck one of our chances away.
I would think he's taken a large drop in salary, to come back as I believe his family are still in Yorkshire, out Wetherby Way ?.

One. This is a message board. Two. There's been naff all to be positive about this season. It's a bit rich to expect anything other than people complaining, this club moves from serving one shit sandwich to the next it's almost comical. Who could have foreseen a January transfer window that bad? Well, everyone actually, because we're used to city giving us absolutely feck all for the last few seasons

So what would do? We sack Hopkin, bring someone else in and then January you want to sack the next one?

David Hopkin will have had 39 league one games plus FA Cups games and others to get a starting 11 sorted and have a bit of quality on the bench, yes he's had his share of injuries and obviously made several of our players not even fit to get on the bench.
I'm sure he has his reasons why but I'm not sure that not even including these players was wise with some of our bench's until recently when the likes of Cadiss, O'Brien (before he left) Hendry and others I'm sure he had his reasons but not convinced they were not worth a place on the bench.
I'm not calling for his head as yet but lets be fair he's had a full season less 7 games.

    No, far from it.

Look I have bashed Rupp before but what can Rupp and Rhodes do? They reduced season tickets to £150 (we can all question why and if it's the right thing or not) before two big home games and then what happens? Hopkin and the players have 1 and half awful games. It's not acceptable.

I'm hopefully with Rhodes here that the mistakes of last season won't happen with what happen with Grayson. I would like to think we have a list of managers we want to talk to now and if we go down to talk to them straight away.

We then have to create a footballing identity and Rupp(if still here) needs to decide if he wants to back the manager with suitable funds but please remember a lot of the players signed in the summer are still on big contracts.

Look, I hope Hopkin keeps us up but he is failing at the minute and like @Bronco@Bronco has stated he has had nearly a full season here already.

But what has he had chance to completely overhaul Bronco? He brought his own staff which obviously made a huge difference in December, the whole forum was praising him in December. We have an absolutely terrible squad which was put together by Rahic/Collins, a couple of star players that can't carry a team/squad every week. What would you have done differently in Hopkins position?

Mistakes were made but Hopkin for me is a good appointment, two promotions on his CV. Did get us playing in December, and as I said above the whole forum was praising him, couple of injuries and loss of form and we're back to square one but if we aren't even going to let managers build their own teams why have a manager?

We might as well go give Edin the call and reinstate him as DOF.

Thanks for the advice. If @Fordy117@Fordy117 thought for one minute that I was being serious then he/she would have already complained or blocked me and vice versa.

Sorry but that is utter bollocks. Hopkin dismantled a winning formula himself for no good reason. It's his fault we are back to where we are after December.

I think your talking bollocks - it was widely accepted that Mellor gave us a huge outlet on the right hand side with his height, we're missing that.

Mellor didn't play at all in the wins against Scunthorpe, Rochdale or Accrington, so I'm afraid your point is nonsense.

But did play when we took Walsall apart, if you can't see we're missing some height then that's a worry. It's been an observation we've done a lot of hoofing, he's quite clearly a miss. Other than than not a great deal has changed selection wise.
