Maybe just maybe we have a diamond in DH, so early to say as yet. Also the vast difficulties he's faced since day one here have perhaps masked his true managerial abilities. However there's one or two little things starting to shine through.

A final desperate throw of Rahic's dice before it all inploded on him, may just turn out to be a masterstroke. Time will tell.

Sensible and rounded comments from Hopkin in the lead up to Saturday, I like his realistic approach to the occasion. Really hope the players are tuned in to the same hymn sheet. From what i can see on here, most are clear that Stuart will receive a deserved ovation, but it should finish at that.

I hope there are no “Stuart McCalls Bradford Army” chants. This is Hopkins time now. I really hope for him and us, he gets the result for Bradford City, that we all need.

If this thread is going to continue can it not be renamed. At the start there was just a couple of hissy-fitters whose ill-judged assessment of underachievement wrongly centred on Hopkin. Latterly the thread is universally supportive and appreciative of Hopkin. What about 'The Hopkin appreciation' thread or 'When do we offer Hopkin an extended contract' thread.

    Spot on Olly.

Stuart deserves a great pre match reception from all the City fans, and I'm sure he will. However, once we kick off, we have to forget about him, and as you say, no Stuart chants. Lets instead hear raucous chants of David Hopkin's Bradford Army.

It will always be Staurt McCall's Bradford Army. Nothing wrong with singing that at all.

Other clubs proudly sing songs about their legends. We need to do it more often.

However, it's all about cheering the lads on as we do every match but need to up our game as fans for this one.

The thread doesn't need renaming at all. As fans we have the right to question our team and manager.

Some might not ever question, some might question over time, some might question straight away.

Jose finished 2nd and won 2 cups for Utd but rightly he was still questioned.

It all depends were your ambition is at. If yours is battling relegation being happy with 2 wins out of about 12 matches then fine.

Yes, I thought we were excellent last weekend but let's see how we do against Scunny and Sunderland before we think Hopkin is the new Special One.

I have no objections to a heartfelt "Stuart" chant and will gladly join in, but I think "Stuart McCalls Bradford Army" would be disrespectful to Hopkin and the current staff

Prior to the kick off as he walks along the touch line yes, perhaps as he mulls over the (hopeful) mauling his side has experienced at 4.50, then again yes, but in between absolutely not.

Any ‘army’ chants should be in support of David Hopkin. Simple as that really!

Oh here we go, a couple of results and you want to grant freedom of the City to Hopkin. Don’t be so naive. The upturn in results is influenced more by Rahic leaving, if you can’t see that then there is no point even debating with you.

I'm with you with regards things looking far more positive with one of our own at the helm, I do believe Hopkin is the right man to take us forward, but without doubt the feel good factod has returned and that has to be down to the Ego going.

Don't think anyone is being naive CBA. Over the past few months I think I have been as vociferous as anyone against Edin and like anyone else see how his removal has had an immediate effect. However, I feel that the hard work and organisation David has put in has been improving our performances over the past few weeks and deserves recognition. Time will tell whether or not this will be maintained but I also feel he is the man to take us forward; no bus(open or closed top) needed.

I think that will have given them a boost but is not the main influence. The main reason is the new coach along with Hopkin finding his settled side.

Harsh on Hopkin to state he hasn’t had a big influence

I was very critical a few weeks ago, especially about the way he had us attacking as I was sympathetic about what he had to work with at the back. But, he's now found a system and cut out the stupid hoofball which is now getting the best out of Payne and Ball and creating chances for Miller and Doyle and we've started scoring bucket loads recently. I can only praise him for that.

So we can only debate if we agree with you? You're right, there's no point.

    Any apologies about yet?

To say people wrote another manager off before he had even got going. Shocking.

Managers need time to build something. 4 managers in one calendar year and people wanted rid of another. Hopkin proving a lot wrong at the minute. Good on him.

I do think you need to be very fit to play the style he wants, hence why starting to work now. Unfit players, leaves defenders with no other options other than to hoof and this subsequently harms attackers confidence too. Target man seems less of an issue now but I do believe we need a plan B ala Steve Davies

I defended him on here when his record was terrible, citing mitigating circumstances. And I'll still back him now, I think he's the man to lead us forward. Since Rahic left his results and performances speak for themselves, and he was unlucky not to be lucking at an FA Cup 3rd round tie to boot.
