Anyone wanting to buy the club would know further investment would have to dove tail with the purchase, because you certainly couldn't buy us to asset strip

£150 season tickets, we got into a higher league under Phil Parkinson why not under Bowyer, maybe when we achieve league one status again Stefan will invest more into the club.
He said he will try to rectify the situation Rahic got us into so for me that has got to be a top 6/8 club in league one, and even then IMO he wont get anywhere near £10 m.

Rupp may be asking for 10m but I’m sure he would be open to offers. When selling your house or business not many get the asking price

If the club is left to simply tick over, the fanbase we have built up will decrease season on season even at non league ST prices.
I’m confident we’ll go up this season but even league 1 isn’t good enough really. The Championship is where we ought to be and we need an owner who shares the same vision

Us lucky fans who watched those 3 seasons between 1998 and 2001 (promotion season and 2 in PL should be very grateful to GR as it’s very very unlikely we’ll ever see top flight football at VP again in our lifetime.

Go Fordy. Finally you raise some very good points. But the issue still remains that Rupp is unlikely to invest further and we have no one else willing to invest the millions needed

With your hindsight we could all post the same crap, we took a risk as our budget was stretched we were given to believe, if we kept Doyle we could not improve the area we thought was poor midfield, yes he's scoring for Swindon that was always the risk of loaning him out to a fellow league two club his past history suggest that at the likes of Oldham and Chesterfield.
If he'd continued in the same vain as his previous time at Valley Parade no one would be batting an eyelid yes hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I wouldn't want to risk what we have by bringing Doyle back and possibly having to let some of our loans who have helped get us into 3rd place with 2 games in hand leave to accommodate Doyle and HOPE he continues with his fabulous scoring record it's far from guaranteed.
You keep repeating your soundbites without any foundation, tick tick, we want better, Stefan needs to up his game, fans are happy with mediocrity, we should be a Championship side yada yada yada, you have to earn things in life you being a perfect example a wealthy man who owns a Merc should recognise that, you only need one bad decision and as we know with Rahic that can take years to recover.

Is Bradford City actually making a profit? I’m just wondering what the buyer gets for 10 million quid and what will his ROI be? Seems a high asking price. How much did Rupp buy for and how much has he invested? Just trying to work out his break even selling point. If he wants away, then he’d be wise to set a price that covers his total investment and that is all.

Edin wasn't far off? Tell you what Fordy, i've read some stuff on here over the years but that takes the biscuit. The only thing he wasn't far off was ruin us for a generation. had he have still been here i've no doubt he would have succeeded in this.

There is some truth in this and something that is intrinsically linked to the clubs history. It can be changed as Richmond showed but in a sense its hard to deny who you are. Remember the mindset of the club when BFG took over, i think it was from Dave Simpson. The club was going nowhere fast. 5 years or so later little Bradford are in the premiership. Only a clear and directive mindset from the very top can achieve this and in this i agree with you that it is wholly down to Rupp as to where this clubs directive is.

The ONLY way to close the gap is to overspend dramatically.

That's what all these facts and figures represent - 24 clubs in the Championship all overspending dramatically in a desperate bid to reach the promised land of the Premier League.

    So.

Let's discuss how to overspend dramatically, and who's money to plough endlessly into the project?

He didn’t really buy a football club though, he lent someone else the money so buy it. They messed it up and he ended up lumbered with it

Then got a free pass because apparently he promised to fund the deficit that he helped make and the first chance he got (McBurnie money) he grabbed it straight back.

Fordy I'm sure we all want the same as you for the club, but we are going round in circles. Rupp isn't going to invest further, he has no interest in football but at least has done the honourable thing by not baling out when it all went tits up. There is no mystical investor, life long fan or not, who is going to pump millions into our club. So how do we make the best of what we have? You did make make good suggestions earlier in the thread regarding commercial opportunities and other within the club

Maybe you need to start supporting "a big go ahead" club like Manchester City because you ain't going to get a sugar daddy taking Bradford City over in the near future, and you can kid yourself as much as you like about Stefan Rupp he will not invest more than he has to, and until someone comes in with the money he wants we go with what we have.

You'd have been away to Elland Road or Leeds Road if you'd been watching Bradford City as long as some of the "Golden Oldies" you talk about who are still around supporting the club, if you think things are bad now I despair how you'd have coped under the likes of Stafford Heginbotham, Dave Simpson, Bob Martin past chairmen who nearly got us thrown out of the old 4th division, the Golden Oldies are a little more realist than you, hopeful for the future but reailse we have no knight in shining armour taking over our club.

Rupp feels the pain of his misplaced trust and has stated that the fans deserved much better. That said, better means progression and the true test..should we achieve promotion, will be how he backs us then imo.

I don't think Rupp has any intention of getting to the PL anymore, unless he can do it by accident without further SIGNIFICANT investment. I'm sure he would sell if he could do so for what he would believe to be a reasonable offer....and I have no idea what sum that might be

FFS Fordy have you read the rest of this thread and the replies to your own previous comments. 10m isn't the figure Rupp says he wants, it is the amount @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler suggested would be required to buy the club and take it forward. I don't doubt there is someone out there who would buy the club. Throughout this thread, and others where you consistently insist there are buyers out there, I have said I don't believe there is anyone prepared to buy and also invest further to take the club where you, and to be fair the rest of us, want it to be.
