Read about the average losses in the Championship, in the 17/18 season it was skewed by Villa, Fulham and Wolves, but the average that season was £22m. About £1.9m per month, £430k a week. Rupp doesn’t have the money to fund that for long. At the moment there is excitement over a few tens of thousands for progress to the third round of the cup. You’re a mug if you think Rupp is funding a rise to the Championship.

Invest in youth? What’s the point? PL academies hoover up anyone with a shred of talent and pay peanuts. Even Huddersfield shut their academy. You’re relying on amazing luck, cast offs, non league players or overseas scouting. And how’s that gone in recent years? Peterborough are about the only club who do it consistently. Out of 48 in the bottom two divisions.

It's the likes of yourself who needs to come into the real world.
We aren't going to get Rupp to invest that type of money, and I'd very much doubt we have potencial new owners who would buy the club and immediatly invest the money being quote.wake up and smell the coffee.

Suppose you're the Boris of Bantam Talk. The one that talks utter sh&te, mugs people off, stabs their best mate in the back, has affairs next to a tree and only cares about themselves.

See only people like you will think this as you're safe.

One of them people that walks around Bradford City Centre City wondering how Leeds over took this city. You should work for the council as you're full of excuses for failure.

Mr Rupp is worth 150m. He brought a football club. Football is a loss making business. Owners are expected to dip their hands in their pockets to develop the club and to move it forward.

Please explain to me what Mr Rupp does for the club if he isn't willing to do this?

He didn’t really buy a football club though, he lent someone else the money so buy it. They messed it up and he ended up lumbered with it

Which is true and this is why a thread like this is important because as fans we need to make sure the club has direction.

He lent money to someone for a reason and if that reason was to make profit I don't know but football isn't a profit making business really.

We need serious people running the club and people that want to take it to the next level to safeguard the clubs future.

Then got a free pass because apparently he promised to fund the deficit that he helped make and the first chance he got (McBurnie money) he grabbed it straight back.

Fordy I'm sure we all want the same as you for the club, but we are going round in circles. Rupp isn't going to invest further, he has no interest in football but at least has done the honourable thing by not baling out when it all went tits up. There is no mystical investor, life long fan or not, who is going to pump millions into our club. So how do we make the best of what we have? You did make make good suggestions earlier in the thread regarding commercial opportunities and other within the club

As I keep saying they will always be another person wanting to buy the club. That's not an issue. So please stop thinking otherwise.

Now, as for Mr Rupp I am sorry that he has now interest in football doesn't wash now. He decided to be joint owner for a reason and now he is sole owner he needs to have an interest. To be fair to him he does attend some games and I believe he does watch the games on the internet if not there.

You say he did the honourable thing but like @NorthernMonkey@NorthernMonkey says the Mcbarnie money wasn't the right actions but this is what happens when you've no assets you act scared and want to make sure the owner is happy.

In to football or not.. what's his plan for the club? Mr Rhodes break even balance sheet isn't a plan now. We need better, we need more to make sure we safeguard the future of the club and move to another level.

Yes there may well be another person willing to buy the club, but that's not what you are asking for. You want someone with the will and the funds to invest heavily in what you admit is a permanently loss making business. I don't believe that person exists in Bradford or beyond at this moment in time.

On the question of why did Rupp buy in the first place. This is just my opinion, but I think he was buying a rich man's toy. Something he has that his mates don't. As I say just my own thought with nothing to back it up.

No I want someone who is willing to take the club forward. It's got nothing to do if the person is from Bradford or Mars.

Most football owners do invest heavily into a lost making business. The thread is about the clubs plans for the future to make sure as @Dennis@Dennis says are just not ticking over. It's an important thread.

I agree its important, and we all want progress, I just don't see that investor waiting in the wings, so maybe we need a different plan. As I said you made some good suggestions elsewhere in the thread.

    Sunderland have just got investment.

Who knows maybe Mr Rupp is looking for investment but Mr Rhodes break even plan won't take us forward and in 10 years maybe the club could be left in a difficult position.

You've the likes of Luton, Lincoln, Brentford etc all moving forward. Yes the main aim of the club has to be get in to div 1 but when you hear that we need a run in the most Mickey Mouse competition in football then it's concerning. Taking the McBurnie money is concerning also.

We can't just tick that's the point.
