A 20% drop from a historic high of 19k although not ideal isn’t a disaster.

In most businesses a 20%+ drop in sales of the prime product, would lead to the CEO resigning or being sacked.

I believe it's possibly the first reversal since the cheap season ticket scheme was implemented back in 2007 which in itself is not the way either the owners wanted or I'd suggest most fans ?.

Aye, but some people were still giving rahic the benefit of the doubt in summer (god knows why), next years season ticket sales could easily be 50% down, easily.

The fans will stick by those who put on the shirt as they did fantastically until another poor mistake for the first goal and I'm sure they will again tomorrow night. The one getting it is Rahic, that will have no bearing on how we and are performing this season. Don't blame the fans, blame the one at the top.

You seem relaxed about the season ticket sales drop. A bit like how Collins described his own outlook regarding recruitment towards the end of the last transfer window.

As has already been mentioned, the further drop next year is likely to be very steep again unless there is a very unlikely change in our circumstances. Something I won't be relaxed about.

no i didn’t. I was just pointing out that 19k was an historic high and a 20% drop isn’t a disaster. As for next season’s total, who knows.

ok then, st sales went from 13k to 9k during the first 5 years of Lawn’s tenure. (although lawn deserves the credit for the cheap st initiative even though Mason thinks it was his idea) The point i’m making is st sales fluctuate at most clubs unless you’re Liverpool, Arsenal etc. Even Manyoo aren’t immune. Rahic is joint owner, not an appointed CEO, so not sure the analogy fits.

I think losing 4k of fans is a disaster. In the summer even you might start to feel the same as more fans vote with their feet. Then again, maybe you won't

You are right that sales fluctuate, mostly in direct correlation to performances and results on the pitch. That's why ST's will almost certainly continue their spectacular decline mirroring the spectacular on field collapse .

As for Rahic being a joint owner, he is a very junior partner of Rupp who ultimately will call the shots, including who has day to day control.

I am not sure where you have got those figures from, care to share a link?

Lawn commenced his tenure as joint chairman in 2007. I cannot find anything which lists the season Ticket sales year on year. However here is a link to average attendances (which will be higher than the number of season Tickets sold) per season http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/brac.htm that shows a significant increase in 2008(9) from mid 8,000’s to 13,694. There is a slow decrease in numbers over six seasons to 10,322. The rejuvenation of the club in 2013 and figures increase to 14,121. By the time he leaves it is over 18,090.

However there is no massive decrease in Season Ticket sales in one season.

I am quite happy to be proved wrong, if you have an independent source to refer to.

In respect of a CEO or COO, you are correct that Rahic is an owner, albeit the smaller shareholder. Given his performance on a number of indicators:
    • Turn over of Mangers/Coaches, other football management staff, and administrative staff, then the numbers appear to indicate a serious degre of instability.
    • Wholesale replacement of players and the current crop not being as productive as previous players (as measured by wins/points).
    • Drop in attendances.
    • Customer dissatisfaction.
    • Reported partners unhappy (sponsors).
    • The already significant 20%+ drop in Saeson Ticket sales.
From what Ican see this is a failing business. He and Rupp should accept that he, for whatever reason, is not able to manage the club in a stable, and productive manner in which there is a gradual growth.

For sure I wish it was different, but my comments above are reasonable. I want my Club to succeed, not fail, it is currently in ‘Freefall’.

I also gave Lawn credit for introducing the cheap ST scheme, which was backed by a T&A campaign, when he became joint owner in 2007. From memory, the total was around 13k. In 2013, the total was just under 9k. I remember the scramble for the league cup final tickets and this was the figure quoted. The improbable cup run and promotion lead to the total rocketing to 14k the following season.
There is a fine line (and an element of luck) between success and failiure. Had we won promotion in 2016, we’d be pulling 20k easily and Edin (and SMc) would be have the city.
We didn’t and the cracks are now showing from years of neglect and cost cutting (one of Lawns taglines in 2007 was ‘cut your cloth accordingly’ when he got rid of staff and brought in volunteers, with only a few left on the payroll).

But its easier to paint Edin as the pantomine villian and pretend everything would be rosy if he never got invlolved, instead of indertaking a ‘root and branch’ analysis of what has gone wrong. Maybe its not as clear cut as us being made out...

Do stop having a go at fans mate, this is self inflicted by a guy who had very little knowledge about running a football club, Edin's and Edin's fault alone, well maybe not alone because Stefan should have been watching not merely his investment but the very people who can either make or break his investment, the very people your knocking.

too many variables. depends how much disposal income you have in the first place. To me, it would cutting down on a few luxuries, to the next man it could mean bills not being payed.

We also had a 13% increase in prices plus the various ‘memberships’ which will have offset the 20% decline in sales

Read the post i am not having a go at anybody. If income falls less money to spend means less to the manager and the team can’t be strengthened so it’s the loyal fans who suffer. That’s a fact
