I don't think many are grumbling at getting a point - it was the performance. We did defend well so that is something but on the rest of the field we were terrible.

If we continue to put in performances like that (and Colchester) we can forget about promotion.

 

Stevenage can look at other results as currently they are in 3rd. We are chasing. If we draw or lose they is a less game to play with not much gain.

If we get into 3rd place then yes we can start looking behind us.

The negatrons over at CA Towers were moaning on Twitter last night, about lit being our 6th 0-0 of the season and asking what the record was for 0-0 draws. I pointed out we had six 0-0 draws in the 2012-13 promotion season...predictably they ignored my comment

 

I’ve sensed this type of attitude since Covid tbh, and I’m not just talking about on here. I got a bollocking off a client for not sending something and it turned out afterwards they’d forgotten to actually ask! Just a small thing but so many examples of doom and gloom and negativity since March 2020.

 

6 doesn’t seem high to me at all, all you have to do is look at the results list every week to see plenty of 0-0’s. I’d be surprised if we are top of that particular list. Most lower league games are quite poor quality and boring by nature, it’s why it should be cheaper than it is at most clubs!

 

If we continue with our current form results wise, we will get promoted, irrespective of performances

I'm liking the very solid foundation of clean sheets first and foremost

 

Just like the 0-0 draws at Grimsby, Wimbledon and Stockport.
Performances that weren't up there, but nonetheless, got us valuable points.
Hughes , just like the clubs analysts will be looking at, will know all the teams around us will be against eachother these next few weeks.
The PPG over the season will see us on 78 points, if we maintain our form of the last few months then 82 points.
For me with the tight nature of the top 8 , this will be enough for autos.
I can't wait for Saturday, I'm sensing a good 3 points performance to take us into 2 home games .

 

Morais said it on the radio driving back after saturday, "goals win you games but clean sheets gets you a promotion". This seasons 2nd-8th will be within 5 or 6 points from the looks of everyones form and other teams remaining games.

There will be more nights like last night between now and Orient at home, when making sure you don't lose is a better option than going all out for the win. Hopefully we haven't left ourselves too much to do by needing wins against Northampton and Orient come the end of April. My guess is that Orient game may well be on tele if we need a result to go up and they'll also probably want some footage of Orient with a trophy?

Can't see it being on telly with a 12.30 KO. They will show some sort of roving programme with reporters at every applicable ground.

I'm in Manchester on 29th April, when I could have been with family in Northampton and got hospitality tickets. In my life, I've never missed being at a match where we have been promoted, and have a very nasty feeling this will be the first and we will win at Northampton to get an automatic spot.

I'm in Spain on the Monday of the Orient game so I'd be ecstatic if we have wrapped up auto promotion before then.

In the past few seasons they've been live at one or two grounds and show key moments in the games that matter for final day. I remember Morecambe and Bolton both having their final league games live a few years back and when Hartlepool went down they had two games live. If we have an automatic spot to play for, makes sense to show us as from the looks of things relegation will be well sown up by then so should just be top places to show.

 

First (edit) half,in front of their fans on the right side of the area. He sort of smuggled the ball past the defender, got in front of him and then there was a tangle. Probably best described as clumsy by their defender. We've seen them given.

Certainly contrasts well with the Plymouth penalty which was one of those drifting on the edge of the box from left to right going nowhere in particular, defender sort of hangs out a leg and player theatrically hurls themselves over it.

Plymouth player fell over with minimal if any contact.

Cook was having a full on wrestle with their defender. Hard to argue he wasn't impeded.

 

What's to say that those clubs are any better than weve played recently on the day we play them
