Someone highlighted this yesterday. I mean it's possibly the daftest thing I have seen a political party promise and there have been some daft things over the years. However an actual barrier in the channel to stop small boats whilst ignoring how the busiest shipping lane in the world would actually pass this barrier is peak level bonkers.

It's 9.15am, why is Greg Hands still Tory Party Chairman? 1000+ councillors lost, whats this his 5th bye election loss?

With him and Sunak taking the Tories into the next election it could be a 1997 result all over again.

 

Yawn, ultra low turnout, voters not voting FOR policyless Labour but rather voting against Tories, means nothing....

 

It basically confirms that people don't want Sunak and Hunt running the country. Are you still falling for their stop the boats line?

I see Braverman is vocal about many things, but her actions don't tell the same story. She could ban this Free Palestine march on Saturday that she is so against but she won't. It's in the remit of the Home Secretary to do so. She is spineless.

 

No, I'm not, but your lot won't even discuss it and that's why folk vote against or abstain from the tories, but nobody is going in to the booth and thinking I'm gonna vote Labour because of all their brilliant attractive idea's are they....always said it, Tories (well, they're not real Tories anyway..) are useless but Labour certainly ain't the answer....

 

Maybe just maybe the boats aren't seen as the biggest problem in the UK at the moment. When people are paying hundreds of pounds extra on their mortgages maybe they really don't care about boats rocking up in Kent (unless they actually live in Kent).

Maybe people aren't stupid enough to fall for the lies that 100k of people coming across in boats are the reason they can't see a doctor etc.

Illegal immigration needs to be stopped however it's nowhere near the number 1 issue for many people. Anyone who puts it above the state of schools, hospitals and the economy needs to revise their priorities and they probably fall for the barrier in the sea garbage pushed out by UKIP.

Sunak calling for change in his speech and saying he will sort out the people's priorities is extreme gaslighting. He's been around since 2015 and this is partly his mess having been chancellor.

It's like Edin trying to hang round after our relegation claiming he is the man to take us back up.

 

Somebody else that hasn't read the room....never mind, moving on..

 

Which room is that? The room where people are taking 2 years to see a doctor? The room where people are paying hundreds extra on their mortgage? The room where people see their schools being closed because they are falling down?

The reason the Tories are so dire in the polls is because no everyone sees the boats as the number 1 problem, which was actually caused by this government in the first instance anyhow so it's a case of expecting them to fix something they broke.
