Don't worry, they won't next time, but Labour will not benefit from the Tory failure, votes will either go to Reform or many will just abstain ....

Seriously? How many MPs do you think Reform will get elected at the next General Election? Answer - a big fat zero.
Tory Central Office is telling it's current MPs that any of them with a 15k majority or less is vulnerable to losing their seat to Labour or the Lib Dems
Tory voters will be defecting to the other two main party in drives.

Labour currently 19 points ahead in the polls. That's before the majority of the fixed rate mortgages come to an end over the next year and huge numbers of people have their mortgage payments doubled or trebled. Before the promised hike in water rates. Before the government reneges on Pay Body recommendations and lumbers millions more with below average wage rises next year. Etc, etc.
Every indication is that people are going to be feeling even more worse off next year than they already are now. Government's don't survive those circumstances at General Elections.

Sunaks stop the boats bill being trashed in the house of Lords for being amongst other things against international law.

Does Sunak push ahead anyway? If anything Braverman will probably look to push it on if Sunak doesn't and then make him look weak.

He's part of a shitshow and will likely be seen as not in control of his own party nevermind the country.

And he was trashed and looked hopeless at PMQs today.

Hold your nerve everyone! A billionaire telling people to hold their nerve is one of the funniest things I have ever heard in politics.

Second by a per who is on a repayment mortgage can move to an interest only one for 6 months ha ha I mean seriously!

    It's easy really

Each individual needs to work out (like our generation did) their priorities when spending

Just make sure you have more coming in than going out by whatever legal means necessary ........even if it means doing some work ....

Oh don’t give me your generation nonsense.

Back in your generation the mortgage only made up on on average 11.2% of a person wage. Not it’s 42.2%

Less things were about in your generation.

    Talking rubbish.

    There is something in that.

However, I bought my first house for £48k in 98. I managed to save a 5% deposit by working overtime for a year. I was lucky that the overtime was available.

That house would now cost in the region of £275k with a mortgage payment of around £1500. You would need to be earning, roughly, double average earnings to take that on.

This current younger generation is facing an absolute nightmare with the cost of accommodation. Rental costs are ridiculous.

There's a very good reason why unsecured personal debt is soaring. It isn't, broadly, the result of failings of personal responsibility.

Labour under Tony Blair introduced child care and the likes so BOTH parents could go out to work, fortunately in my younger days I was the bread winner until my kids were old enough to go to infants and my wife got a part time job.

If you look at the Energy market, you can't get any deals. The energy market as it work seems to be taking what the energy cap is and just charging that maximum price to everyone. It appears that Hunt and Sunak are going to drop the green energy levy back on us from July aswell.

Mortgages having their interest rates going up are doing massive damage. I know they talk of 10%+ back in the past, but 10%+ of say £20k is £2k a year. 5% of an average morgage these days at say £150k is £7.5k. Due to the housing market owning a house now for a first time buyer is a nightmare.

Going back to Tony's example of his generation, they have done well seeing a house they bought for £20k 40+ years ago is now worth £200k. It's all well and good telling people to live within their means but youngsters these days start off with massive debt from university before they even look at getting on the housing ladder.

This water company £14bn in a hole has been paying out millions in dividends and paying the CEO £1.3m a year.

Still, we best just hold our nerve and get on it.

I notice you glossed over the now monopoly state in the energy industry where they are all charging the maximum without competition. The monopoly of the Water companies who are paying obscene salaries for failure and paying out millions in dividends whilst the water network is on it's knees and issuing hosepipe bans at the first sign of sunshine.

I also notice you glossed over the fact you have ended up with an asset like a house which is now worth about 10 times what you paid for it in the past.

Nah, it's a the benefit of your generation that you claim had it so hard. People in this generation won't see a 10 fold increase in their home's value whatever their education. You've fallen on your feet with home ownership.

And when you pop up with daft comments like people in our day whilst benefiting in such a massive way it's just an I'm alright jack attitude.

I'm also lucky because my house value dwarfs my mortgage, however I can see how the housing market is and some people simply can't cope not via bad money management but because Supermarkets, Energy Companies, etc all pushing prices up to save themselves. Then you have Water companies who are true monopolies who will just pass their costs on to the public who have no alternative but to pay.

I fear for these people, even though I am fairly well isolated from these effects because as it stands it's pure greed look after themselves actions to keep their CEOs bonuses high.

I see the court of appeal has ruled that the unlawful Rwanda policy is infact unlawful, a day after the Lords voted down the illegal immigration bill because it was against international law.

No doubt Braverman will come out and blame it all on lefty lawyers that are the issue because they won't let the government break the law. I mean you could say we will use gunboats to sink boats off the coast but everyone knows it's against international law so there is no point in crying about it when actual judges confirm this is the case.

So that's one of Sunak's pledges, dead in the water, pretty much like the other 4.

    Talking of Sunak's 5 Priorities.

They changed from Promises to Pledges to Priorities and now all look like pipe dreams.

Something has to be done with regards the economic migrants crossing the channel, wouldn't you agree ?, I'm not sure Labour would reduce these people coming over, but what is more worrying is, do they want to stop these people.
I emailed Phillip David with regards this situation and reminded him of the Tory manifesto pledge that they would reduce these numbers to 1000s not 100,000, he replied it can't be done with us being signed up to International law which doesn't allow us to turn boats around and send them back in many cases to France.
It looks like if any government Labour or Tory wants to reduce/stop these number they will have to ignore the International law we signed up to, I believe the Tories might do that but know the Labour party won't, as Brexit was the main issue in the last General Election (all though I was told differently by a few on here) these boat people will be one of the major issues come the next General Election.

I'm not on the left of politics, and I think this whole thing is a farce. It was unlawful from the start so it's no surprise it doesn't hold up in the courts. This Rwanda thing has cost us millions, it was due to have people from Rwanda coming back in the opposite direction for anyone we sent there and it wreaks of a government that doesn't have a clue about how to deal with this and are out of ideas.

Can the grown ups please take over again rather than spaffing our money for no return.
