Trueman and Sellars - permanent deal

Am I right in thinking Foulds has never played a league game in England? Surely it's too early to be saying he is going to be ahead of FCD in the pecking order before we've even seen him play, especially given one plays on the right and one on the left?

 

I can't base my decision on much really, just a pie in the sky hunch. Probably need to see them both with a run of games but personally i don't think FCD is that good a right back. That might be because he's a centre back by trade i don't know. Certainly Foulds has to impress to get a contract, not playing hardly any first team games by this stage of your career doesn't bode well for the future.

 

FCD was doing OK up to Exeter when his inexperience and frailties were really exposed. But the reason he was doing ok before that was not because Exeter was just a bad day at the office, it was because he was being helped massively by Clarke. FCD has the potential to develop into a decent right back but he is only 18 and imo, is a long way from being first choice in that position. We need to recruit a more experienced option in the summer.

 

Thats fair comment. Players have time to develop their skillset and its too early to fully judge how well a player will do. That said, it was easy to spot just how well the likes of Cullen and O'Brien would do based on their first few performances.

And drawing upon Sparks comments, T&S certainly do deserve the applause from a VP crowd for their hard work and excellent turnaround in attitude, performance and results.

I think that is the likeliest scenario, otherwise T&S surely would have been given the gig permanently by now.

 

No, no and no again. Adams is a dinosaur, the exact sort of manager that we need to stay well clear of. Their performance tonight (offensively) was bordering on what we saw from Bowyer last year.

Gomes is good though, would like him. Although he wouldn't be cheap considering he's the only player who can actually play football in that side.

 

Mended Gomes was good, but tonight, Vernam was better

 

He has definitely played senior football for Bury.

 

Just checked and he had played a couple of games before the Premier League clubs were sniffing and Everton snapped him up.

The only manager right now I'd have any interest in other than T&S, is Ryan Lowe. But its T&S's to lose. Hopefully the next few games continue in the same vein and we can just crack on as we are

Don’t know whether Ryan Sparks let something out of the bag in tonight’s interview when talking about getting fans back in the ground when he said it would be great for T&S to take the accolades from a packed vp even if it was just the once

 

I heard the interview. I didn't read it as your interpretation. I get the feeling something is going on in the background and that he was inferring, that he would like a VP crowd to acknowledge the part that T&S have, and continues, to do. Maybe I'm wrong Park?

For the record, I'd happily have these two boys. Bloody breath of fresh air..
