Trueman and Sellars - permanent deal

Excellent news. Well deserved congratulations to them both. Will be good to celebrate their achievement en masse when we're back at VP together.

 

Fully deserved.

The contract length is right and lets keep going in the right direction which is UP!

 

Great news but not unexpected.

They have been labelled a joint managers but surely it should be joint miracle workers?

Anyway thats another huge step forward in what is now a very exciting end to the season.

 

Does this mean Mr Tart you win the bet on city’s next manager

 

I won last week, after 10 games in charge they become permanent in a betting sense. Just need us to get promoted for the next bet...

 

Congratulations to both, they more than deserve it, just about everything seems to be falling into place at the Club now, maybe a few tweaks still required here and there, really looking forward to see what these 2 can do between now and the end of next season, onwards and upwards

 

Glad to see that we’re following Edin’s blueprint. Appoint under 18 coaches. That bloke Edin really knew his stuff. Some say he was way ahead of his time..... well I know he said it.

My god what a turnaround. I was n’t enthralled or excited about the appointment’s of Sparks or T&S but thank god somebody was. It’s been quite some time since I’ve felt this optimistic and giddy.

You know what lads its like a shining light as been put on us and its all going to be ok.

I know we will hit the buffers sometime but they have us playing like our lives depend on it. Well done you two.Two of our own.

They will also know who is good enough from the Youttthh so things are looking good.

 

I don't think anyone was banging on about waiting until the summer, more about trusting that everything was in hand behind the scenes and that an announcement would be made when the time was right. That in itself is a massive improvement ; I for one wouldn't have had the confidence to feel like that a few months ago.

 

Agreed I mentioned the academy side of things yesterday, that they were most likely taking their time due to the fact T & S were still permanently employed by us for the academy. Since a deal was made by Sparks early on in his tenure about the importance of it I hope we are quick to announce a strong replacement in this area as they seemed to be doing a fantastic job.

 

Read back, it was here countless times. It felt right after half a dozen games, its not just the managers but the process behind them. Things feel right now, its like we actually have a simple plan of wanting success and not just be here to make up the numbers.

 

They already have according to the T&A promoted from within

 

There's been some talk about this summer being the wrong time to increase ST prices. I guess much will depend on the level of clarity and confidence around fans getting back into grounds, but if we continue this sort of momentum and go into the summer on an upward trajectory, then I think its exactly the time for an increase. Nothing outlandish, put them up to £180, something like that. I've always said that as fans we need to be willing to pay more, if and when we're given a proper club to invest in.

 

About bloody time!!

Great start from the two gents but that's all it is. Quite simply must deliver promotion within the 18 month contract assigned. Nothing less unfortunately.

Congratulations to the pair, more than deserved and well done to the club in getting the appointment, in terms of contract length, just right.

 

The last 3 games have nailed it for me. We've seen a positive response to a defeat, we've seen positive responses during games when in a losing position, we've seen T&S show they can affect games by making tactical changes to address challenges within games too, we've seen them navigate difficult calls over a couple of positions (Cook starting ahead of Rowe, AOC moving to right Back) and we're seeing more and more evidence that with better players they're able to generate a better and more controlled, effective and attacking way of playing.

Job done, and perfect timing as far as I'm concerned.

 

I agree its a football forum where posters gave their opinions on what might be happening generally, I'd think within the circles of "need to know" both T& S knew the situation they were working under.
I dont get this reference to I'm right your wrong, I'm personally delight Ryan with Stefans blessing have brought forward the full time appointment of these two.
I'm sure there would have been talks going on with regards their wage demands length of contracts etc, I'd think they are both over the moon with this news but listening to Ryans and the players comments about these two getting the football side right was their primary concern.

 

Delighted with this news, I like the quote from Ryan Sparks about not accepting mediocrity. That was Geoffrey Richmonds mantra in the 90s when he became chairman.

 

To be fair they are managing the way the likes of me and you see the game which bodes well for them because we are usually right.
