Note the words of Sparks, we will never accept mediocrity. Yeah have a good read because these words was brought up on here time after time yet darent be muttered by many on here, the ones who did mention it were derided for their supposed negativity. At least we now have a CEO who admits that words like ambition and mediocrity are at the forefront of what we do and don't want.

 

Well if there ever was a time some people deserved a promotion then these totally justified it.
Well done T&S onwards and upwards.

Excellent news. Surely an appointment that everyone agrees with at this point.

When the inevitable bad run eventually happens can the usual knee jerk poster's please keep their heads a little bit. These guys seem to have "it" so let's see where they can take us.

That comment will past most by on here, deserves a better audience.

 

My reluctance to purchase a ST until they were offered a contract clearly shook Sparks into action.

 

Contrary to popular opinion, there aren't many 'knee jerk' posters on here. No more so than anywhere else, anyway. Most fans who've been critical over the last few years have done it on a very reasoned basis. We've been crying out for this sort of direction and now that we have it, it needs to be backed and it needs a degree of patience. The fact that we now have a CEO openly talking about ambition and not settling for mediocrity - and backing those words through the right actions, is a breath of fresh air.

 

I have wondered this throughout their tenure, but obviously it is working.

The only time I can think of a similar arrangement is Gerard Houllier & Roy Evans at Liverpool.

Personally though I am all for new progressive ideas (appreciate it has been tried before as above!) and by not having one person in sole charge, it does give us a more open mind to our approach.

 

As long as the two are aligned in thinking and clear about who owns which responsibilities, and have a system for how decisions are made when they have different opinions, I can see lots of advantages to it.

 

And yet i read some on here banging about the situation being fine and lets wait till the summer etc. Thank goodness no more interim rubbish, a settled management team and a squad of young hungry players, most of who are ours. I expect summers targets have already been identified with various options for each position. The ones who were just happy to have a club to support won't what to do with this new positive attitude.
