A very poetic way of describing the effectiveness of the EFL.;)

They just need to administer themselves properly. A root and branch review of the organisation is called for.

Kenyon is the man who prevented Ronaldinho and Robben signing for Man Utd by leaving for Chelsea mid negotiation. A snake.

City won't be happy with that as we have no assets.

Apparently, the EFL are looking at giving clubs a 5% overrun on any salary cap. But, any club who does has to pay a sliding scale of ‘fines’ judged on how much they overspend.

At the maximum a club will be fined £3 for every £1 is overspent. All proceeds will then be evenly split between those clubs who stay within budget.

Seems she has a good brain for business, She has protected her investment by taking a first charge to offset against the club going in to admin, I notice that one of the clauses is that if the club goes in to admin the ground and hotel revert to her ownership and are not included in any admin, Only a fool would invest a huge amount without security, Smart Lady we could do with some of her ambition and drive

The bigger clubs could use the money for better scouting and player development

Yep they could have top rated academies and training grounds without being at a disadvantage on the pitch.

The ultimate in ambition, I keep hearing.

Should the cap come in it’ll be interesting to see what we spend the remaining money on down the line once we fall into line, I’m no expert but I’d guess our income is over double the proposed wage cap. Obviously there are other out going’s but it if we could only folk out £1.5 mil there should be money in the pot at least to make off field improvements.

You're a bit light there. It's much closer to £5 mill with ticket sales, advertising, sponsorship, merchandising, solidarity payments and TV rights all thrown in. Whether the last item lasts in the longer term will be for the EFL to negotiate with the TV broadcasters. Of course, with Covid 19 and the likely restrictions on fans at games, some of these revenue streams will be severely reduced at least in the short term.

We won't though...I just don't think it's in Rhodes mindset.

Never really been talking us improving off the field...We make excuses not too.

Yeah I was thinking a bit down the line once we fall in line with the cap, and hopefully the effects of COVID have been diluted. I’d hope we’d be in league 1 say in a couple of years, so hypothetically that would be only half our income. With some on rent and non playing staff you’d still think there’d be around a mil left over. Would we put it to use? Would the league bring rules in that profits have to be spent on the club, or go in the owners pocket? Or maybe even some clubs(not us) have to reduce season tickets to bring income into line. If a cap is brought in it shouldn’t be to line clubs profits, it should simply be to make them sustainable. I’m yet to be convinced we’d put any profits to good use, but happy to be proved wrong.

Imo they should just be stricter with the financial regulations already in place, but the EFL continue to be useless.
