You can get a good idea of what he's like on his social media. Everything that epitomises a player more interested in the money than the game. A good technical player but his hearts not really in it.

City had him for January so paid his wages for an extra month, and at the end of January they were faced with a cut price offer from Swindon or keeping a non scoring expensive unhappy player. We got £50k for him, and paid his wages for a month, the offer in December was £100k.

 

I don't know why people would be shocked by that. We had him the whole of Jan really and Rhodes is in charge.

17/18 season - 8 goals and 16 assists in league one
18/19 season - 8 goals and 15 assists in league one
19/20 season - 9 goals and 6 assists in league one (left in January).

Not as good as he thinks he is? Pull the other one ffs. What player have we ever had on the wing in league one who returns those stats? Living in dream land some people

Most of his games aren’t played on the wing though he’s an attacking midfielder which is where the majority of his games are played, similar to Jack Payne who got 9 goals in a team that ended bottom and got slated by plenty in the process. The stats are decent at league 1 level and he’d be quality and too good for league 2 but that’s about it, he’s miles behind a Bradley Dack.

Again, it looks like you're confusing 'how good he thinks he is' with the fact that he's a top end League One player at best.

Next season he will once again be in League One, more than likely, at the top end.

Sunderland, the team he supports.

Sunderland will probably finish in the top ten again, where Maddison generally always finishes, so it's a fine signing for them.

But he THINKS he's better than that, and him and his agent pissed away a move to Birmingham because of it - they eventually manufactured a loan move to Hull that was nothing special, and Hull have no interest in keeping him on the back of it.

He made just four starts and three sub appearances for Hull, and guess what? In that time he generated some magic that got Hull City fans thinking they had a wonderful talent on their hands, and guess what? Not really the case.

I didn't use the word 'average' myself, but I did call him a 'mediocre Championship' player. That's why it's looking unlikely he'll play in that division next season, but I hope he does - because that will show us exactly where he stands, and my money is on 'not quite good enough'. If he goes to Sunderland (or Charlton), it will be business as usual.

He will never get a better chance to invest in some cut price quality players
and get his investment back on track to the Championship you never know he may even sell for a profit then

I think a lot of us were saying last year that he would be ideal for us at the end of his contract at Blackpool. Still think would be a good signing and just the type of hard case leader needed in our midfield

He wanted to sign him desperately when Crawford was at Hamilton but Edin blocked it.
