Transfer Rumours

Don't know if we have tried or not but I wouldbe disappointed if we haven't looked at getting Dylan Connolly back. Can't imagine he would command a big wage. I know I am like an old record on this subject

 

If we are to sign another winger, I would like one with some end product. As much as I liked connolly, he didn't muster enough goals/assists. We already have DMH for the headless chicken role.

 

I would have liked Connolly back as well but Stuart seemed to prefer DMH

 

I think Connolly showed more than enough for this division and his influence on games was head and shoulders above DMH. In fact I would go as far as to say he was our most influential player. He made far more of an impact thatn Cooke even. I accept that sometimes the final ball was lacking but at least he made things happen.

I know I need to give it up. I'm just really surprised he hasn't been mentioned anywhere...well by anyone other than me

 

Don't get me wrong, I liked the lad; his enthusiasm was infectious and when he went on a run with his blistering pace it was exciting to watch. However, what he made up for in enthusiasm and pace, he sadly lacked in end product. In 27 games he only had 2 assists and one goal, granted it was a worldie but also a one off imo.
Would I have preferred us to have resigned Connolly instead of DMH? Yes, but we didn't and if we are going to sign another winger, I think we need better than Connolly.

Frank Nouble who we were linked with a month or two or ago has gone to Plymouth.

I'm obviously on my own and I do think that if you like a player you see the good things and are blinkered to the bad, but I think he is more than a winger. The way he used his pace to close down the opposition was a great asset too. He unsettled defenders massively. Let's face it if he always had an end product he would be top end PL at least.

You, he's always had some talent, but never seems to apply it.

 

Scored a belting free kick and was full of enthusiasm but ultimately a headless chicken. Seemed like a nice guy so what better premise to sign him on....

 

Over the years you possibly more than us have seen young lads come through showing bags of potential, but lacking the mentality to implement that talent, when most fans would give their right arm to play professionally for the club they support.

 

I've noticed that Bolton's latest signings are significantly less high profile than Doyle and Sarcevic. Can you imagine the outrage on here if we signed out of contract players from Dagenham & Redbridge and Barnet?

 

It would be boring if we all thought the same, and you are always going to get a difference of opinion about players, whoever they are. I remember there were some on here not overly keen on O'Brien when he was here as they just thought he ran about a lot. Look at him now, captain of a championship side and player of the season. What I'm trying to say is give it a couple of years - you never know, Connolly might be knocking them in for fun by then and demanding a multi million pound transfer

 

Yet many over the weekend were saying we have fallen behind Harrogate, so why would a very average player who couldn't get a regular place with us be a good signing for them?
