    While logged into my test account I noticed one of the ads is for a selection of football books. And it got me thinking what are football books people recommend?

    I'll start. My recommendation is the autobiography The Unstoppable Keeper by Lutz Pfannenstiel. He may not be someone most people have heard about as he is a journeyman German Keeper (Although he had two spells on loan at Bradford Park Avenue so perhaps some of you from Bradford may have heard of him) but he had such a crazy career full of drama that it's a fantastic read. I've read a fair few football autobiographies and they can often be a bit dry and vanilla so you have to really be a fan of that player but I couldn't put this one down even though I knew nothing about him.

    It's not actually one I would have bought but I won it in a Tifo Football giveaway but I've bought a few copies since as gifts and everyone I've bought a copy for has loved it so I'm sure all football fans would enjoy it.

    I'm sure you will. His life is so eventful that it’s movie worthy. Look forward to seeing what you think of it though

    Certainly going to add the first 3 on my list. One of the things I enjoyed about The unstoppable keeper was it showed a side of the game that often goes under the radar and those seem like they will also.

    Might pick up the tactic one simply because in-depth discussion of tactics are always useful for helping build tactics in Football Manager

    It would need more than a chapter to explain the genius behind playing a whole squad of players in roles that don't fit their attributes :)

    How to be a Footballer, by Peter Crouch.
    Probably a very obvious suggestion but a good one nonetheless.
    It's not exactly War and Peace, admittedly, but it does lift the lid on the bizarre mentalities of many top level professional footballers in the Premier League era; often hilariously so.

    Read a lot of footy autobiographies,the ones i would recommend are.Alan Ball,Frank Worthington Gazza and Best and Paul Merson,Alan Ball had a very interesting yet tragic life,you wouldnt let him put your lottery numbers on for you:(

    Inverting the Pyramid is highly recommended by me. Best insomnia cure I've ever used. Any time I'm struggling to drop off I put that on the kindle and I'm dozing off in no time. Borrrrrrring.
