I mean granted it’s going back a year or two but we signed a lad from Clyde, scored the most important goal in the club’s history at Crystal Palace.

Slightly more recently Eoin Jess, Rory McArdle, Brian Mitchell all from Aberdeen, McCall second time round, we signed an ex Barcelona player from Hearts. Granted your Archie Christie era stuff was shit, and the likes of Andy Tod and Harris Vukic weren't that sharp either.

 

Spin it whatever way you like but we haven't signed 6 players, we've signed 4 and given out two contract extensions. That's not to mention Cooke who was already part of the squad last season and Clarke who was away on a gap year in Lincolnshire.

You could be a spin doctor for Boris at this rate, I seem to remember him making a pledge of about 50,000 new nurses or something when it turned out almost half of them were nurses we already had.

 

Well the resigning of DMH, RO'D and Cooke are pretty standard.

The 3 signings are proactive - yes.

The communication isn't.

You're trying to push the communication together with the signings where I'm simply talking about 1 aspect of that.

I actually rated Vuckic - under-utilised IMO.

Clearly there's been no forward planning whatsoever. There's only been two names brought in that weren't here last term and already the list is exhausted?

We already knew about Dylan and Richard. That wasn't proactive.

Even Clarke, he was dying not to move outside of Yorkshire.

We've basically encouraged 3 new players to come. Let's put it like that. The other 3 needed little encouragement.

 

Big difference is a L1 club with an established long serving proven manager looking to challenge for promotion, or a recently relegated L2 club with it's 5th manager in 4 years

 

What a stupid thing for McCall to say. We probably need at least 4 new players. 2 wingers, a creative midfielder and a rb.. Thats the bare minimum. Where are these players going to just "crop up" from??

 

Park's pipeline

 

I'd say RB is a priority but I think it's a hard tackling ball winner we need in midfield. No way are we getting 2 wingers, I'd be delighted if we got one but not optimist about that as things stand. The other issue is the possibility we may need a striker if Vaughan goes .I hope to god we have a decent contingency plan for that scenario and we aren't just going to wait to 'see what crops up' .

 

Im guessing he will go Cooke and Watt as the middle two but apart from Clarke we don't have cover there. Ive no idea where Pritchard will play but out wide we only really have DMH and Ismail. We won't have a hope if that's it.
