Nothing in the pipeline because the clubs who’s players we have inquired about are either not yet back in training or have just returned. Nowhere does it say they haven’t been identified

You're doing the normal bit of deflecting and redirecting the point.

It is simply about portraying confidence, professionalism and pro activity around what we do. Saying "We'll see what pops up" does the opposite. The number of signings (or resigning if you want to be pedantic in a couple of cases) has zero to do with what I was saying,

Forget actively sending scouts to games to identify players. Forget having a list of pre-determined players to approach. Forget any sort of data analysis to scout a player. You know, like the professional clubs do.

No, we just sit by the phone, hoping something lands on our lap, because an agent has done our job for us. Reactive and not proactive as usual, but hardly surprising.
