Would you rather it was a Samsung?
I get sceptical with these "can also play...." scenarios. If he comes and plays all his games at right back competently then that will do for me!

I know Wood had a good season last time out but it would worry me to have two fairly inexperienced full backs playing along side a centre back pairing that hasn't been that good for the last couple of seasons.

Leeds employ a director of football overseeing a team of scouts and base their recruitment on a physical opinion of the player as well as the data and analytics produced by organisations such as WyScout, in order to identify for themselves, emerging talent. This being in line with their recruitment policy. This isn't Bielsa sat with his ipad, watching highlights of a player an agent has just come up with. It's not even comparable to our 'setup'.

Just a thought; are we taking McCall's comments too literally?

why do we always go form one extreme to the other? You don’t need a vast network of scouts at this level but at least an operation which has a list ready or 2 to 3 options for each position based on the manager preferences. Pacy wing backs, target man etc. Then when Vaughan goes for example you already know who you are going to get and can make moves quick.
That way not leaving it down to Rhodes on the phone on deadline day looking around for a favour

I think that is about right, one comment I would make is Stuart uses a lot of football generalisations when he is talking which sometimes make it look like its 'back of a fag packet' stuff which is then thrown back at him - from people who I have spoken to who know him he is a lot more analytical than that, knows what he wants and is determined to get the best he can

I’d be happy with Hiwula, if a little surprised. Everytime he seemed to score McCall seemed to drop him if memory serves me right!

No Park, simply no - I think we have an old enough, immobile enough front line as it is!

'Proper' journalism is dying out. We contribute to the process by consuming so much of our 'news' from one source that has only one agenda. Our critical thinking skills have been reduce to simple criticism of things we don't like. The T&A, like many other media outlets, is struggling to stay afloat, in part, because we don't want to pay for good journalism. We're happy to take any old balony as long as it's free.

I have created a dedicated thread, called ‘Harrogate Town’, so people can put material on that, rather than one entitled ‘Transfer Rumours’.

I found it slightly amusing, that someone who posted, ‘Moderators...any chance we can have our transfer rumour thread back. This has descended into a boring thread about the merits of.....’ Merrily posted five of the forty posts about Harrogate Town, in the Transfer thread. Can anyone work out who it was!;)

Don't know if we have tried or not but I wouldbe disappointed if we haven't looked at getting Dylan Connolly back. Can't imagine he would command a big wage. I know I am like an old record on this subject

Well according to his dad that I am sat in the pub with tonight,
Bradford, hartlepool United And Mansfield have shown interest in him, so the only two viable teams are us and the stags I would say. But under boreyer we showed interest now McCall is interested, I have only seen the lad play for the Newcastle u23's and yesterday play for Notts County but he looks like the real deal.
##my honest opinion he looks like a similar player to Shaun Murray those old enough to remember lol)

It’s sounds contradictory to what was said this morning where it was said we are waiting on players higher up the league so we will wait and see.
It’s gone a bit quiet on the Vaughan front I don’t know how Tranmere are going to afford him

Well, fwiw the story has legs - I remember reading about it - must have been in Simon Parker's T&A news probably about 12 months ago. Bowyer expressed surprise that Roberts had been released by Bruce and stated that he had invited Roberts to City for pre-season training. I am pretty sure that tssb stated then, when it was discussed in the forum transfer column, that he worked with Roberts' Dad but it seemed unlikely that he would come to us as Roberts was pretty upset at being released by Newcastle after being there from being a schoolboy and was considering an offer from Greece. I remember Bowyer being asked about Roberts again idc and said he had heard nothing further. The Greece option obviously fell through and perhaps Roberts wanted to stay more closer to home at that time.

    More on here btw: https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/callum-roberts-aka-geordie-messi-leaving-newcastle-united-might-be-best-thing-me-ahead-wembley-final-2929989

How do we know Staunton is adequate backup? He could be a weak link in the first team picture. He’s got to prove himself over a number of games before we can say he’s adequate.
